About the Course – Asian Studies

Asian Studies is instrumental in understanding the great diversity of cultures, societies, and political systems of Asia.  It explores the impact of Buddhism, Hinduism and Islam, and investigates the dramatic changes brought by colonialism and revolutions to the Asian people. This program will enrich your insights on contemporary Asia and the social, cultural, political and economic aspects  shaping modern societies in the Asian regions. Asia is home to two-thirds of the world’s population and some of the most dynamic and fascinating societies on the planet. Along with the changes brought by colonialism and revolutions, you will also explore the impact of modernization on Asian culture, society, institutions and people. You will also examine Asia’s relationships with the rest of the world. This major does not require you to learn an Asian language. 

 This program helps in developing an appreciation of Asian business, culture and history. It will also benefit you by helping gain cross-cultural skills and exciting opportunities to work and travel in the region
