About the Course – Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders Studies

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders Studies plays a huge role in strengthening an organization’s cultural capability. It also encourages and supports research projects that are relevant to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders peoples and communities.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Education Workers assist Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students in their education, provide feedback to parents or guardians and teachers about students’ progress and liaise with educational bodies, government agencies and committees. You can also work as an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Education Worker without formal qualifications. However, having them would be useful for you. Training is available through the VET (Vocational Education and Training). A course in aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander primary health care might be helpful.
