Academic Background

Talking about my educational background and qualifications, I have always been a genuine and diligent student. I have completed my secondary level namely School Leaving Certificate (SLC) in Nepal in 20XX securing good grades of XX% from Bhanu Memorial English Boarding School, Biratnagar. Similarly, I have passed my higher secondary education in 20XX (known as +2 levels in Nepal) from Merryland Higher Secondary School in Management stream securing XX%. Moreover, I completed my Bachelor’s degree in hotel management stream from South Asian School of Tourism & Hotel Management affiliated to Purbanchal University in December 20XX with an aggregate XX GPA. After that, with an intention of getting an international degree, I took IELTS classes from April 20XX to July 20XX  and attended the IELTS examination on 18th August, 20XX where I was able to get an overall score of 6.0 (Listening 5.5, Reading 6.5, Writing 5.5 and Speaking 6.0). After scoring a convincing IELTS score, my next step was to analyze different aspects of abroad study in depth. For that, I visited a number of consultancies and came across suggestions of different counselors. Also, I had to wait for the academic transcript between January 20XX to June 20XX. However, I found the Institution name approachable and proceeded further for the offer process.

Employment History

I have completed my internship of 6 months during my Bachelor’s study as a Trainee in Berjaya Langkawi Resort, Malaysia. The internship is a career-related professional work experience that enhances your education by giving you experiences applying your knowledge and skill in the workplace. The advantages of taking an internship are endless as it gives an overview of practical implications of theoretical concepts. I worked in all the four departments of the resort during my training period. The main objective of the internship was to get the hands-on experience of the real-world organization. After pursuing Bachelor’s in Hotel Management, I thought of working in the hotel and hospitality sector to get a better insight into how the service sectors like hotels and restaurants operate. Therefore, I started working in Aragon Polytechnic Education & Training Services as a Food & Beverage Instructor from 5th June 20XX and still working. The working experience helped me to get a better understanding of how the hotel and hospitality industries operate in the real world.

Reasons for choosing Australia

On deciding my destination for further study, I did the research for the best destination for my career.  After surfing on the internet and through the counseling of my agent as well as my relatives, I chose Australia as my destination. Australia is currently the third most popular destination for international students in the English- Speaking world, behind the United States and the UK. Many international students choose to study there because of cultural diversity, friendly natives, and high quality of education. On browsing information, I found Australia offers truly world-class education and regularly features in the global ranking. Eight Australian universities are on the top 100 in the QS world university ranking. Australia is a culturally diverse country with a large number of international students, which means we get to learn with the people all around the world as well as it can be the optimal way to learn a different language, culture, religion, custom and traditions they share and also will enjoy many of the comforts of the home. Furthermore, it will provide me the opportunity to build my self-confidence and also expand my worldview. Australian universities hold strong ground in research in every field of course. The courses are recognized globally. The most important is the Australian institution offer a variety of courses and degrees, so the international student can easily find the fields and universities that are appropriate for them. Because Australia is the forefront of new technology and innovation students will acquire quality education, which is the foremost concern of any student. The curriculum is updated in accordance with the present context.

There are rules and regulation which facilitate the international student in Australia. Some of them are education service for overseas students (ESOS) Act, national code of practice for providers of education and training to overseas students. Commonwealth Register of Institutions and courses for overseas students (CRICOS) and tuition protection service (TPS). These rules and systems make Australia stand out from the rest of the world when considering the country and environment where we study. The learning and study process happens in a multi-cultural and global level, which enables me to work in any part of the world when I complete my studies. Due to multiple advantageous factors in the educational system in Australia for students and the best ranges of courses, I choose Australia as a destination for further study.

Reasons for choosing Sydney

I have decided to go to Sydney because it is rated top for international students. It is a well- planned metropolitan city with top-notch transportation along with the peaceful environment and world-class telecommunication facilities. Sydney is Australia’s financial and educational hub where many prestigious colleges and universities are located in offering world-class education. It is a multicultural city where thousands of international students come to fulfill their educational ambition. Moreover, the climate in Sydney is similar to Nepal, thus it won’t be harder for me to live there sustainably. So, studying in Sydney will definitely give me international exposure to shape up my career.

Why not study in Nepal?

MBA (Specialization in Project Management) hasn’t been offered by any universities of Nepal to date. Project management topics are available only as part of the course. We do not have a specific degree of project management offered in Nepal. So, I chose to study abroad. In the context of Nepal, it lacks technical aspects of learning; instead, rote learning is practiced especially focusing on grades. The education system has made students difficult to cope up with the working environment after their graduation. Management programs today focus more on written examinations based on theories, and not on skills/competency building. Also, the students are not provided with ample internship opportunities followed by old learning and teaching methodologies, hence, making the students competitive in the global world. Nepalese students lack insight into the practical implications of their course of study which later creates difficulties for the students in order to adapt to the workplace culture.

Reasons for not choosing other study destinations

Before choosing Australia, I did research about different countries like the U.K, U.S.A, Canada and other European countries for my higher education. Talking about the UK and USA, the tuition fee and cost of living is very high there compared to Australia. In the UK, there is news on shut down of different universities and colleges recently. Visa processing for USA, UK, Canada is time-consuming and hectic. In Canada, the weather condition is not appropriate for students like us. In other European countries, they prefer their native tongue rather than English which makes international students difficult to study there. As per my analysis, Australia stood out as the best among other countries.

Reasons for choosing the Institution name.

One of the main difficulties to study in Australia is to select the university because most of the universities are highly ranked which provides high-quality education with excellent facilities. I researched many universities like University name, University name, University name, University name, University name, University name, University name, etc. but I found that Master of Business Administration (Specialization in Project Management) at the Institution name matches the best according to my need. The other reason to choose the Institution name is the affordable fee structure and also provides students with attractive scholarship programs. In Institution name Master of Science (Project Management) course is of 1.5 years. The tuition fee in the Institution name is very high AUD XXXXX where and in Institution name fee is AUD XXXXX. However, the fees in the Institution name are comparatively lower, i.e., XXXXX AUD. So, after deep research, I found the Institution name is best for me as my qualification meets all the criteria and entry requirements in this university. After a lot of computer-based research, I shortlisted the universities and in the end, I selected the Institution name, Sydney as my study destination. I found the Institution name is more affordable and career-oriented for my study. Basically, I have chosen to study at Institution’s name is multinational companies located in many countries and its brand value is high. University will have a large class size where I can study in small class sizes in the Institution name. I also compared the course structure, academic and English entry requirements, and internship facilities while studying, scholarship opportunities in the future and other facilities provided by the Institution name with other Colleges and Universities and decided to study at the Institution name. I also meet with the representative of the Institution name and I meet with him in Nepal and collected all the information about the college, course, fees and satisfied with this information as well. The intended course includes 7 core subjects, 3 Project Management Specialization Subjects and 2 Elective Subjects that will help me develop my ability to think critically, in addition to the essential business and project skills expected by potential employers in the workplace. Apart from this, the institution’s name offers expert resources to help students achieve their academic and career-best. It provides the students with the tools they need to succeed as well as open doors and broaden access to education. It constitutes outstanding teachers renowned for their achievements in business, education, and research that are committed to helping their students achieve their goals. The Institution name provides a broad welcome to international students of all beliefs, backgrounds and upholds a respectful culture. Further, it is well known for its excellence and innovation and is considered to be one of the finest Business schools in Australia. Moreover, it is one of the best in terms of affordable tuition fees, well design curriculum with top most experienced faculty members and many more. All these reasons convinced me to choose the Institution name which is both affordable and convenient for me.

Reasons for choosing my proposed course.

The dream of people often changes according to time and situations. I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Hotel Management Faculty and got an opportunity to work as a Food and Beverage Instructor within Nepal as well as outside the country as a part of an academic course. During the period of my internship, I had to organize and coordinate various events and meetings. I found these tasks of managing and organizing quite interesting as I also got a lot of appreciation while carrying out the event management activities. In between that period of internship, one of my colleagues mentioned me about the growing scope of project management and its future prospective areas. I found the project management field more interesting and started researching about the course and its scope in upcoming days. Project Management is a set of activities that includes initiating, planning, executing, controlling and closing projects. It’s a discipline that gives principles, techniques, and tools to help finish things on time and within budget. I chose an MBA (Specialization in Project management) because of my interest and this course will prepare me to establish myself to lead the various projects. While studying MBA (Specialization in Project management), I have to study various courses like Project Management Concepts, Initiating and planning project, Project Management Internship, Managerial Finance, Enterprise Project, Innovation and Sustainable Business Development, etc. The program structure consists of 7 core subjects, 3 Project Management specialization subjects, and 2 Elective subjects. These courses will provide advanced project management skills that will need for hands-on project management. This course is an ideal complement to on-the-job experience and will equip with the fundamental methodologies, modeling and analytical techniques for the design and implementation of projects across a wide range of industries. Masters of Business Administration (Specialization in Project management) graduates may work in various positions including senior project manager, program director, and chief project officer roles. They may work locally and internationally, in a wide range of areas including mining, manufacturing, water, IT industry, finance, management and environmental consultancy and more. Moreover, Project management is a completely new program for my country and I can see huge scope after the completion of my study. Project management in Nepal is in the early stages of its development. Foreign companies and investors bring their own concepts in regard to project management in Nepal. Thus, studying project management I can assist my country in a variety of productive ways. This program will build a strong foundation regarding the concepts related to project management involving all stages of initiating the project to planning, executing, controlling, and finally closing. In addition, we shall get opportunities to learn, develop and instantly implement the strategies, models in a specific sample project that we have been assigned during the program. The internship program will largely benefit the graduates in dealing with real-life problems and finding out the pathways to solutions. Moreover, it will also boost up the confidence of the students providing a glance at how the professional workplace operates and the expected behavior from the employer. I’m very much hoping that this program will help us equip for the demands of the evolving complex business environment.

Future Career Plans after the completion of Masters of Business Administration (Specialization in Project management)

After completion of my course of study, i.e., MBA (Specialization in Project Management), I will return back to my home country as there are many things needed to be taken care of. As Nepal is a developing country, many national and international companies are being established. My career plan is to work for the government and non -government offices and work in different projects related to the field. At the completion of the course, I will be able to demonstrate broad knowledge and skills in Project Management. In the context of Nepal, even I can coordinate with International organizations like WHO, UN, UNICEF in the different program management. With the skills, knowledge and experience from the Australian University, I am sure I can contribute more to the people in the field of Project Management. I can work like mining, manufacturing, water, IT industry, finance, management and environmental consultancy and more. I will be earning NPR. 65,000 – 75,000 in the initial phase and after a few years of subsequent experience the pay scale might reach up to Rs. 1,00,000 which will recover the study cost shortly. Also, on the brighter side, Australia provides PSW visa to international students after the completion of their course of study. Post Study Work (PSW) is very important to gain real-time experience and understand the global trend in the sector of Project Management. After PSW I will return to my homeland with a globally recognized degree and working experience in an international environment. To my surprise, there is great variation in the pay structure of an international degree holder and Nepalese graduate. In a field where an employer pays around NRs. 35,000- 40,000 to a Nepalese graduate, he/she is willing to pay NRs. 65,000- 70,000 to an international graduate along with ample growth opportunities.

My financial condition in my own country is stable and I belong to one of the few families of this developing country who have more than enough financial resources. I have got no friends and family members in Australia and my economic capacity in my home country reflects that I have no economic incentive in Australia. Hence, this reflects my clear-cut intention to return to my home country Nepal.

The incentive to return back to home country

After graduating in Australia, with knowledge in mind and degree in hand, I look forward to returning to my homeland and serve my fellow citizens with the help of knowledge and skills that I will acquire from Australia to uplift the project management sector in my own soil. I am a citizen of Nepal by birth and descendant, I have completed the right to enjoy all the facilities guaranteed by the constitution of Nepal to its citizens. Simultaneously, I have complete faith, dedication, honesty and immense love for my home country. I am an authentic temporary recruit and mean to come to Australia with the main motive of academic purpose, and have the communication, educational capability and financial structure to manage and successfully complete my post-graduation. Wherever I am planning to stay temporarily for my study and enhancement, I have the root desire to come back to my home country and live the rest of my life being a respected project manager and a responsible citizen.

Besides that, all my family members are here and I have a number of duties and responsibilities towards my parents and family. Being the youngest son of my family, I will have to look after them and the properties. My parents are my biggest heroes and they have supported me in each and every step of my life so I cannot run away from responsibilities as I have to take care of them in their old age. I want to say that, I have my identity as a Nepalese. Therefore, I promise that I would not let my identity change because it describes me throughout my life. My full emotions, sentiments always lie for my family, friends and hometown where I have passed beautiful unforgettable moments of my life. So, I would like to declare that I have no intention to stay in Australia more than my study period. I see tremendous opportunity from my career perspective as a project manager in various companies in Nepal as I will have an Australian degree. So I have no reason to stay in Australia after the completion of my Master’s Degree. Finally, I want to assure you that I have a genuine plan to study my desired course in Australia and return to the home nation after completion of my studies.

Visa Conditions

As I am applying for a student visa, I will be given the visa subclass 500. The visa allows me to stay in Australia to study full time. Under this visa, I will be bound to certain conditions. Most importantly my Overseas Students Health Cover (OSHC) policy must cover the full period of my visa. I am allowed to work a maximum of 40 hours per fortnight. I cannot undertake the work until I have started my course. I have to maintain my attendance of at least 80% in each subject to pass and don’t get involved in any kind of criminal activities. I must notify my education provider/ DIBP (Department of Immigration and Border Protection) of my residential address in Australia within 7 days of my arrival and if I have changed my residential address, I have to notify my education provider/ DIBP within a week of time.

I will be within the bounds of laws for student visa conditions. And I want to assure you that my living in Australia will not be permanent as my entry to Australia is for pursuing higher studies. I will return to my home nation and I will work and research in the same field.

I would like to offer a basket of thanks for giving your precious time going through the stated purpose. I look forward to getting a positive response.

Sincerely Yours,
