Briefly description of my education history & IELTS

I am Applicant Name, a permanent resident of Dakshinkali municipality ward no. 6, Kathmandu Nepal. I was born on 14th November 1XXX. I am the daughter of Parents Name.

The devotion of a decade that I have spent for completing my school life has proved to be the most fruitful and formative one. I had completed my school leaving certificate (SLC) from Shikharapur Community School, Pharping Kathmandu securing XX% in 2XXX and completed Proficiency Certificate Level (PCL) Nursing from Shree Phulchoki Nursing Campus, Banepa Kavrepalanchok securing XX% in 2XXX [3 years course from 2XXX-2XXX]. Since English is not my first language, I have given my International English Language Testing System [IELTS] in 18th May, 2XXX where I scored overall 6 band. After that I researched about different countries and universities, mentoring International students. After all the researches, I came to conclusion that Australia is best suited for me. Due to all these hard works and experiences, I am accepted to the one of the reputed universities in Australia to pursue my undergraduate studies. And at last I had prepared all my financial documents and other required documents and applied for visa.

Brief record of my employment history

Work and experience is another way of learning. After completing my proficiency certificate level, it is very necessary to gain the experience at the field of nursing, that’s why I joined Manmohan Memorial Community Hospital from 2nd Dec. 2XXX to 2nd Jan. 2XXX as a three month training and full time job as a staff nurse. I received my Nepal Nursing Council License to work as Registered Nurse in Nepal in 24th Feb, 2XXX. After that I joined Vayodha Hospital in 15th Jan. 2XXX to 12th Feb. 2XXX where I worked as staff nurse. Then again I joined Manmohan Memorial Community Hospital in 19th Feb. 2XXX and working as staff nurse up to 31 Dec XXXX.

Reasons for gaps of one year or more in my academic and/or employment history:

Understanding knowledge use in everyday nursing practice is important to the improvement of educational preparation and quality in health care. The aim of the study was to elucidate nurses’ experiences of knowledge use in work situations. For students to understand these interpretive modes of knowledge use and to develop personal abilities, we should have access to and be active participants in certain health care situations, and we should have the opportunity to reflect on acting personally in professional relationships so I worked in hospital as a staff nurse.

Financial arrangement for my study:

My family is well settled in Nepal. Their happiness equals to my happiness. They have compromised their dreams for my achievements. My parents strongly believe in parenthood, that they want me to achieve the height of success and reach the summit. What I am today is due to the support and love of my family members. My parents are Nepali Citizens. ( Parents Name My father, Husband, Father in law, Brother in law ) will be my sponsor for me throughout the study course time in Australia. Our income sources are from my father’s salary who work as loan department head at Name Sahakari Sanstha Pvt Ltd, he earns NPR.XXXXXX annually. My husband works at Name Tibet Trek Pvt. Ltd as assistant manager, he earns NPR.420000 annually. My father-in-law runs the restaurant and he earns NPR.XXXXXX annually. My brother-in-law works at Name Sahakari Sanstha Pvt. Ltd.as accountant who earns NPR.XXXXXX annually. We have a bank loan of NPR.XXXXXX in Sunrise Bank Limited for my further living and study expenses where I already paid my initial tuition fees I will get support through my sponsors to secure my education goes smoothly as possible to my university.

My proposed living arrangements in the particular city of Australia:

A new regional initiative is set to introduce the 300,000 plus international students who come to study in Australia to the Sippy Downs. Sippy Downs is all about to promote the outstanding education, lifestyle, work and career opportunities that are available in a safe, natural and inclusive environment to international students. And also I like to study on the Sippy Downs because there are so many beautiful places to relax and less expensive than Sydney and Melbourne. I am very new in Sippy downs so I have done some research via RTA website. There are a variety of accommodation options close to USC’s campuses. Among them I am willing to choose varsity apartment in varsity view court Sippy downs Queensland 4556. It is more economic and convenient as it only takes 3min. walk to university of sunshine coast and rental cost AUD 150 per week.

Reason for not studying in home country Nepal:

I have completed my PCL Nursing in Nepal and now I want to pursue higher education. For that, I have researched study options which are available in my home country Nepal but I decided to study in abroad. As per my research, in Nepal, there are few universities but they are only providing specific courses as only public health and only available at few universities like Tribhuvan University, Pokhara University, Purbanchal University, Kathmandu University with a limited number of seats and there are no other partner institution and campuses for pursuing this course.  Furthermore, the degrees in Nepal has low demand and less market value in comparison with international degrees and international work experience. After that the education system in Nepal is very weak. The teaching approach is more theoretical than a practical one.The board examination notice and results are never published on time. So, in order to make my future degree valued and wanted, it was necessary that I expand my research abroad. And my plan is to study Bachelor of health science which provides many options as communication and thought, behavioural health, public health, scientific research methods. And I am also more interested to experience a new education system from a developed country like Australia.

Reason to study in Australia, not in other countries:

I have done a brief research about education in Nepal, Australia and other countries. As per the research, I found that Australia is an advanced and developed country with the world’s 12th largest economy. It is a huge landscape and rich in natural resources. Australia is a multi-cultural country where people from different part of the world living together. 8 out of 100 top universities in the world are Australian. 5 out of the 30 best cities in the world are in Australia. Almost all the universities in Australia are government recognized which makes the students safe about their future and education. Australia is the safest country in the world which makes it less crime rate and gender discrimination country in the world in comparison with other countries like the USA and European countries. In Canada, it takes really long for the admission process and visa process and weather is also not suitable for me. But the climate in Australia is quite similar to Nepal. Living expenses and tuition costs in Australia are considerably less expensive than the UK and USA. Australia offers post-study work [PSW] opportunities for international students after a bachelor degree and such provision is not available in the UK. Australia has an ESOS [Education Service for Overseas Student] act which deals about the right of the international student. Australia has a tuition protection service [TPS] which means tuition fee is safe and secured. Australian course and curriculum are systematically and scientifically designed as per the need and demand of the modern education system. So, I decided to study in Australia than in other countries.

Reasons for choosing this particular academic program

The Bachelor of Health Sciences is a three-year program that provides a comprehensive overview of health and health care, including biomedicine, healthcare ethics, public health, psychology and nutrition. Receive a solid foundation that will allow me to move into a clinical or non-clinical career. This is an excellent pathway into postgraduate health programs, including medicine. Choose to major in Health Promotion, Nutrition or Public Health. I will study a range of specialized courses during my second and third year and will also undertake health and management related electives. Get hands-on experience, integrate my knowledge and develop key professional skills in a busy health setting as me to undertake supervised work experience in my final year. Bachelor of health science prepares or, helps to tackle current and future health and well-being needs of individuals, communities and population, both locally and globally. It offers a detailed overview of healthcare and is the perfect springboard to a variety of clinical and non-clinical careers in the health care sector. In Bachelor of Health Science I will:

  • Gain a strong foundation in health science.
  • Understand the current and future health needs of the community.
  • Specialize in a health discipline.
  • Gain work experience in my area of specialization

I will specialize in one of six extended majors, including health promotion, environmental health, epidemiology and public health, prosthetics and orthotics, or aboriginal and Torres strait islander health, equipping me with the skills to improve population health and wellbeing. The Bachelor of Health Science has many career opportunities like:

  • Environmental health officer.
  • Health promotion officer
  • Prosthetist and/or orthotist
  • Epidemiologist
  • Health communication specialist.

And also it has a great future scope in a developing country like my home country Nepal.

Reasons for choosing this particular education institution no other Colleges & Universities:

Before making the decision to study bachelor of health science in university of sunshine course [USC], I have done a brief research about the course, cost recognition, duration and future scope for my career.

I took my time comparing the course and subject materials as well as a teaching environment. Among various world-class education provider in Australia I found many universities and their courses suitable for me but among them, the University of Sunshine Coast, is the one that stands out for me. Since its establishment, USC has been providing a suite of quality education in undergraduate and postgraduate coursework programs to domestic and international students. As per the research, I found that USC is the only public university in Queensland to be awarded 5 stars for teaching quality in 2017. USC is rated as one of Australia’s best universities for overall student experience. USC will help, whether it’s practical to work experience or the chance to pursue a lifelong passion, to connect with the community or to travel. USC Programs include a strong focus on the core skills in the future workplace. All programs include hands-on training, practical experience and internships. USC has over 70 partner institutions worldwide and the opportunities are endless. In short, I will get everything I will need for a bright future. During my research, I have gone through the website of few other universities like Victoria University, Australian national university, Australian catholic university, university of Melbourne and many more but I found USC more preferable and suitable. USC provides a high graduate employment rate with advance technology and teaching, learning facilities. I am also attracted to the affordable tuition fees and suitable location. Also, I compared the tuition fees with other college and found that Australian national university [ANU] has AUD 43,632 per year tuition fees for the same course.

Course requirements of my selected Australian academic program:

Bachelor of Health Science in USC is three years course divided into six semesters of study. Altogether I have to study 288 units as outlined in the program structure in three years duration. I have to complete no more than 10 introductory levels (100 coded) course as well as a minimum of 14 advanced (200 or 300 coded) courses (168 units). The unit value of all courses is 12 units and I am responsible to enrol correctly according to course requisites, program rules and requirements and be aware of the academic calendar dates. At the successful completion, of course, I earn 400-500 credit points which is enough credit points acclaimed by different employers, educational institutions as well as Nepal Government here in Nepal. As I am Sippy Downs students so some course will be taught at the Sunshine Coast Health Institute. Under this course, I need to study units such as Communication and Thought, Introduction to behavioural Health, Public health foundations, Science research methods, Prosthetics and orthotics, Human resource management, environmental health, public policy, sociology, Human Physiology, Functional Anatomy, Motor control and learning etc. The total tuition fee for one year is AUD 24,000 according to the offer and COE have given by the university.

Relevancy of my selected academic program to my past education history.

The term ‘health’ is a positive and dynamic concept. In common parlance, health implies the absence of disease. Having grown up in a middle-class family, I used to have a keen interest to care about my health as well as for my parents too. With the age, my interest to work in the health sector also grown simultaneously.  At the end, to become a healthy person is already my dream so I studied Nursing from Shree Phulchoki Nursing Campus from which I have gained quite a knowledge of health. To make what we have studied effective, it is really important that we carry out our knowledge in a practical way. Thus, not letting the precious time slide I have worked in hospital after complete my proficiency level of a certificate so, as an undergraduate student, I can unhesitatingly say that this course of Bachelors of Health Science is relevant to my education and employment history.

My future career plans upon successful completion of my selected course from Australia:

First of all, if I go to Australia and get an opportunity to be a part of University of sunshine coast. My plan is to study a bachelor of health science from Australia. It provides a comprehensive overview of health and healthcare, including biomedicine, healthcare ethics, public health, psychology. I will make best out of these three years by portraying my hard work, zeal, sincerity, and dedications and ace my different exams for achieving my goal. With an accomplishment of three years of studies and with the extension of my visa I want to polish up my practical knowledge and would like to be working in any of the course-related fields over there. As per the research, the potential field of employment includes environmental health officer, epidemiologist, health education officer, project manager and many more. After completing my course from Australia and having some experience under the PSW I will return back to my home country Nepal. If I am not able to get PSW also I will return to Nepal and will apply for the job utilizing all the knowledge and information which I got from Australia. I would like to see myself working towards the benefit and development of the health industry. I have a genuine intention to go to Australia, I will return to my home county after the completion of my course as my birthplace has always been a place of comfort for me. With the Australian degree, I would be able to get employed in much reputed big organization of my countries like UNFPA Nepal, WHO, ADRA Nepal and many more. I have got all the information regarding job through online job portals like www.merojob.com, www.kumarijob.com, www.ramrojob.com. They are giving more priority to international degree holders than local degree holder. They are paying NPR 65000- 75000 per month to International degree holder but for the same job Nepalese Degree holder will just pay NPR 25000 -40000 per month. It seems that my investment to get an Australian degree will be more beneficial for me to get a competitive job nationally and internationally as Australian degree is globally accepted.

Understanding the visa conditions in Australia:

I am aware of the visa conditions in Australia where

  • I should maintain satisfactory attendance in the course and course progress for each period as required by the education provider.
  • I must maintain adequate managements for health insurance.
  • I should not work more than 40 hours per fortnight.
  • I must remain enrolled in a registered course.
  • I should update my address.

I assure you that I will be maintaining my student visa conditions as well as other rules and regulations. I would be very thankful if I get the lifetime opportunity to educate myself in Australian way at esteemed university with Australian culture and lifestyle, which I believe will be both challenging and rewarding and when I come back to Nepal with my degree I can make myself and my family proud.

Thank you!

Bachelor of Nursing

Statement of Purpose

“BACHELOR OF NURSING”

Student: KIEC Student

Introduction

My name is ( Full Name ), a permanent resident of ( Address ), daughter of ( Parent’s Name ). My passport number is (XXXXXX ). I was born on 30th January, 1XXX. I am writing this statement of purpose in connection with my Higher Education Bachelor of Science (Nursing) to pursue in Edith Cowan University, Perth, Australia.

Academic Background.

Regarding my academic background, I completed my School Leaving Certificate (SLC) from ( School Name ) with XX % in the year 2XXX. After that, I joined Proficiency Certificate Level (PCL) Nursing in ( School Name ) ( which is affiliated to Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training – CTEVT) and completed PCL Nursing with XX % in 2016. Further, after the completion of PCL Nursing, I prepared for the Nursing Registration exam which was conducted on 11th March, 2XXX by Nepal Nursing Council (NNC) and successfully became the registered nurse with the registration no. XXXX on 12th March. 2XXX.

Employment History.

As per my working experience, I have been working at ( Company Name ) from 1st April, 2XXX to till date as a staff nurse in department of General ICU and Neuro ICU. After getting some work experience in the related field, I decided to continue my study in an international platform in order to get an internationally recognized degree and gain experience which will make me more competent and dexterous. Therefore, I started preparing for Occupational English Test (OET) and appeared for the examination on 14th April, 2018 where I was able to score B in Listening, Reading, Writing and speaking respectively. After getting my OET results, I started research on finding the favorable destination for my future study. And then I came across the decision that Australia would be the best option for my Bachelor degree level. So, I started searching for the universities of Australia and finally chose Edith Cowan University.

Financial Sponsors.

With regards to my sponsors, my parents and in-laws are my sponsors who are financially sound to afford my tuition fees, living expenses, OSHC and travelling. My father is an employee at ( Company Name ) Nepal and my mother is a teacher in a government school. Also, I have an elder brother who resides in abroad. Moreover, my in-laws have their own family business named (Business Name ). We are financially sound and do have the capacity to afford my study and our stay in Australia.

Why Australia?

I wish to continue my further studies in Australia because of various reasons. First and foremost, it offers top notch education which is recognized as among the best and innovative in the world. Secondly, Australian universities are widely recognized for its existence as they deliver practical and career –oriented education so that students can acquire skills and knowledge required to enhance their career. Thirdly, it stands among popular study destinations with international students from across the globe. It is a multicultural, safe, friendly and welcoming society offering excellent environment for international students to adjust and study. On top of that, Australia has grown to become one of the most preferred destinations of many students like me in recent years which seems unstoppable now. It offers globally recognized and qualitative degree. Almost all the universities in Australia are government recognized which makes the international students safe about their future and education.  The Australian Government has formulated the Australian Qualification Framework (AQF) which regulates the education system in order to maintain the high standard of education associated with the country, due to which Australia graduates are highly sought. In addition, there is a clear and standard system regarding the courses that is CRICOS CODE (The Commonwealth Register of Institution and Courses for Overseas Students) which allows the providers to offer courses on student visa. Moreover, I have chosen Australia because it has implemented rules which protect the rights of education. Australia is the country in the world, which allows ESOS (Education Services for Overseas Student) Act 2000. The ESOS Framework ensures that students have access to tuition assurance (which acts like consumer protection). The ESOS Framework includes element like Tuition Protection Services (TPS) where the fees of international students get safe and secured giving students peace of mind. Apart from academic standards, what I want to say is that Australia is itself a continent which is culturally diverse as a large number of students from across the world like Nepal, India, Africa, China, Brazil and so on are studying there. The people out there are quite friendly and supportive. Australian lifestyle and living is among the best in the world. Seven of Australia’s capital cities regularly rank among the world’s’ most livable’ cities. So, studying in Australia will provide me an ample atmosphere to live in and learn different culture, tradition and languages that will add extra flavor in my profile. Moreover, PSW (Post Study Work) provided to graduate and post graduate students for 2 years is really inevitable and an opportunity for the international students to gain experiences in the related fields.

The cost of living in Australia is reasonable considering other English speaking developed countries and the scholarship offered by the universities makes the fees really affordable. I have gathered the information from these sites www.studyinaustria.at, www.homeaffairs.gov.au, www.studyinaustralia.gov.au. Owing those reasons, I have selected Australia for my further study.

Why not other countries and Nepal ?

As I have already studied three years PCL Nursing course in Nepal, so I was planning to complete my Bachelor of Nursing in short period. Therefore, I began to search different universities in different countries, obviously United State and United Kingdom. I found University of South Alabama in USA which provides four years Bachelor of Nursing. Similarly, I searched a University named The University of Edinburgh having four years Bachelor degree. Moreover, India is my neighboring country, I could have made it of my choice but the Bachelor of Nursing is of four years  and spending four years of my life is really a challenging part and time taking. On the other hand, I can complete in three years in Australia which makes the cost little cheaper in compare to USA and UK. In addition, the present scenario of these countries is not favorable. I discussed with my parents regarding the same but they were not fully convinced regarding my further studies in those countries and advised for Australia. On the other hand, I had also researched a University in China named Wuhan University where the Bachelor of Nursing is of 5 years. On the top of that language, culture and foods are the major barrier for me to adjust in China, so I did not put in my priority.

With regards to my home country, there are some reasons which motivated me to study in Australia rather than my home country. Firstly, I’ve already spent more than 13 years to complete my studies and I have been familiar with the system. In order to compete in this competitive era, one has tobe highly dexterous and qualified and to have an international exposure from Nepal itself is not possible. Secondly, the universities like Tribhuvan University, Kathmandu University and Purbanchal University are providing the course, and for example, Bachelors of Nursing is a four-year program of Tribhuvan University conducted by IOM. This bachelor level program was initiated since 2005 A.D. The course of 4 years is too long and time taking. Moreover, the colleges which are affiliated to other universities are not well equipped, expert and internally recognized. As the world has been a global village, so everyone wants to explore the world and gain experience and so do I as after all, I will be using all those in my country after returning.

Why Perth?

With its laid back vibe, brilliant sunsets, great weather and amazing foodie and music scene, Perth offers an excellent alternative to the more popular cities of Australia’s east coast. With thousands of miles of coastline to the north and south, Perth is the ideal base from which to explore the natural wonders of Western Australia, while the city itself is currently undergoing an intensive rejuvenation with new opportunities to enjoy the Perth lifestyle every month. Perhaps that is why for the last ten years Perth has been ranked by the Economist as one of the top 10 most livable cities in the world. Education in Perth is internationally recognized for excellence. The five universities in Perth are world-class and provide qualifications which will take students wherever they want to go. While the range of schools and colleges provide internationally recognized certifications and flexible pathways into tertiary studies. Perhaps that is why more than 56,000 students from around the world choose Perth for their study destination. An overseas education is more than just study, therefore, it should include practical skills, encourage time management, recreation and curiosity, and most importantly it should provide choice. Perth provides a diverse range of programs across a number of institutions, from technical courses to business qualifications and English language certificates, and allows students to take the direction they want at the pace that is right for them. Vacation time and the relative ease of casual employment for students allow them to enjoy the state, get to know its people and experience why it is a top 10 livable city. Therefore, on the basis of such convincing facts I found Perth approachable and have chosen it as my ultimate study destination.

Regarding Living Arrangements

With regards to accommodation, as per my research, there are many ways to arrange the accommodation, like Home stay, Hostel, Share Accommodation, Property lease (flat or house). I prefer share accommodation and that will cost approximately $ 60,870 AUD for student and around $ 14,200 AUD for a partner for accommodation.

Why ECU?

Established in 1991, ECU has grown rapidly into a quality university with excellent student satisfaction and internationally recognized research.Students and graduates at ECU are among the best in the world, with many fulfilling crucial roles in the society. Their outstanding achievements have been recognized throughout Australia and internationally through awards, grants, scholarships and prizes. However, the most important reason for choosing ECU is because I will be getting a credit of 1 year and as a result, I can directly get enrolled from second year of Bachelor of Science (Nursing).

ECU is committed to widening participation and breaking down barriers that restrict entry to education, and it has been continuing its work on the enhancement and development of alternative entry pathways to higher education.

ECU is a university that values diversity and this is exemplified by its multicultural student cohort spanning a wide range of ages. It also supports gender equality and ECU is advancing this commitment through their membership of the Athena SWAN Charter in Australia. Guided by its strategic goals, ECU is building on their reputation for excellence in teaching, developing the quality and volume of their research outputs and increasing international programs and collaborations. With such outstanding reputation and results, I believe that ECU programs will help me to strengthen my knowledge with equal emphasis on skills leading towards a better and sustainable career path in near future. Therefore, I have chosen Edith Cowan University for Bachelor of Science (Nursing).

Why Bachelor of Science (Nursing) ?

Nursing is a career where you never stop learning and it has had a significant effect on people’s lives. Nursing is a profession within the health care sector focused on the care of individuals, families, and communities so they can maintain, or recover optimal health and quality of life. Nurses may be differentiated from other health care providers by their approach to patient’s care, training and scope of practice. Personally, I believe that it is a highly demanding career that can be very challenging as well as rewarding. With regards to my chosen course (Nursing), there are multifarious reason to get Bachelor degree in Nursing faculty.. The first reason because we have better abilities to be hired, or better hiring marketability. Basically, what’s happening is there is initiative that’s in place, which is called the 80/20 by 2020. What that means is that by the year 2020, every hospital is basically mandated to have 80% of their staff BSN prepared. So what that means is that if they start acting now during the hiring processes and hire mainly BSN prepared nurses, they will be better able to fulfill this initiative. And I’m thinking that if we don’t meet these criteria, there could be some kind of penalties in place. So a lot of hospitals are really making sure that they do hire BSN prepared nurses, so they can meet this. So that is the number one reason and the second reason is there have been a few studies that show there are better patient outcomes with BSN prepared nurses. Moreover, I will have a great opportunity to lead a prosperous career. As a graduate of Bachelor of Nursing, I will have the skills required to work as a registered nurse in a multiple of settings in Australia or overseas including public and private hospitals, community health, mental health, aged care, home health care, indigenous health, occupational health, rural practice and international nursing. The most outstanding reason is that this program is also a pathway to graduate- entry midwifery and mental health programs and other specialty within nursing and health care. Therefore, I have chosen this course.

Career plan.

As per my career plan, my aim is to lead my life as a Nursing director. Firstly, I have planned to complete my Bachelor degree from Edith Cowan University, Australia and intend to continue my nursing career in my home country. After the completion of Bachelor, I will try to learn corporate culture and gain experience by doing PSW (Post Study Work) if possible which will enhance my level of confidence, competitiveness and professionalism. After that,, I will get back to my nation because my first priority is my family and we ( me and my husband) must have to take care of our parents. In the same way, we have lots of property to look after as well.

Here in Nepal, I will get abundant of job opportunities, as my nation is in developing phase which need lots of qualified and experienced hands like me. I will give my first priority to my home country Biratnagar. Biratnagar is one of the largest cities in Nepal and lies in Province no. 1 (which has recently been announced). There are lots of health care facilities like Nobel Medical Health and Teaching Hospital, Neuro Hospital, Golden Hospital Pvt. Ltd., Koshi Zonal Hospital, Saptakoshi Hospital, Biratnagar Eye Hospital and the number of the health clinic and health centres are also increasingly tremendously. Furthermore, if I choose to become a nursing instructor, I will definitely get a golden opportunity to work for popular institutes, such as IOM, KU, PU and other institute affiliated to CTEVT and can earn up to NRS. 90,000 to 120,000 per month. Besides hospitals, there are lots of National and International NGO and INGO like UNESCO, WHO, UNICEF, UNDP, USAID, FPAN, Department For International Development (DFID), therefore, what I believe is that there is wide opportunity for Nursing in my home country where I could comfortably earn more than 100000 NRS and even more per month and maintain my livelihood being close to my loved ones.

Family and Marital history.

I am the second child of my parents. I have an elder brother who resides abroad. My father is an employee at( Company name )and my mother is a teacher in a government school. I have been married to ( Spouse Name ) on 13th March, 2XXX, according to our custom. He will accompany me to Australia if I get an opportunity to study over there. He has been my source of inspiration and has always motivated me to achieve my dreams. So, his presence will help me to perform my best in my study and will support me morally. We do not have child yet. I feel very lucky to have families who have supported my decision; to continue my further study in abroad. We will be sponsored by my father and in-laws.

Visa Condition.

I am well aware of visa subclass 500 student category. This includes restriction in working for more than 40 hours per fortnight when the course is in session. There must be adequate maintenance of satisfactory attendance in the course, i.e., 80% attendance should be maintained and course progress for each study period as required by the education provider. Notifying the education provider of residential address in Australia within 7 days of arrival is must. Complete Health insurance should be done by me during the stay in Australia which will be provided by obtaining Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC). I cannot change University before 6 months. Further, the subclass also includes that student should have maintained sufficient money to pay for travel, tuition and living expenses for the period of stay in Australia.

Declaration.

I hereby declare that the information above which has been supplied in support of my student visa application to assist me to demonstrate that I satisfy Australian High Commission, Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP) that I will sincerely obey all the rules under visa subclass 500. I affirm that with a great dedication, I will complete my course within the mentioned time period. Therefore, it’s my humble request before you to open the doors and provide me an opportunity to be a student of ECU. I wish to learn under the proper guidance of highly qualified and dynamic experts available in Edith Cowan University. This opportunity is sure to add a milestone for my future endeavors.

Thank you very much for your time and consideration towards my application.

Sincerely Yours,

BACHELOR OF HEALTH SCIENCE

Bachelor of Health Science(Clinical Nutrition)

Statement of Purpose

“BACHELOR OF HEALTH SCIENCE (CLINICAL NUTRITION)”

Student: KIEC Student

Introduction

My name is ( Name ) daughter of ( Parent’s name) born on 20th December, XXXX and I am a permanent resident of ( Place Name ). I have always had a prodigious willingness to have an international degree to learn in a multicultural environment, to groom myself in an advanced, sophisticated and modern corporate culture so that I can compete in this competitive world and for this my parents have been my motivational factors. Therefore, I have decided to study Bachelor of Health Science (Nutritional Medicine) at Torrens University, Sydney, Australia for my higher education, quality teaching and career perspective.

Academic Background:-

Talking about my education background, I have always been genuine towards my studies. I have completed my School Leaving Certificate (S.L.C) examination in 19th June, 2XXX securing 81.88% from ( School Name ). I have passed my National Educational Board in 2XXX in Science stream securing 64.60% from ( College Name). After my 10+2, I went Kathmandu for Medical preparation Course and appeared for Medical Examination but due to high competition and less seats I could not get the admission in Medical Field. Finally, I enrolled for IELTS classes and attended my IELTS examination on 08- December, 2XXX

\where I was able to score an overall score 6.5 (Listening 7.0, Reading 6.5, Writing 6.0 and Speaking 5.5). After my IELTS scoring, my next step was to study aboard for my career educational plans as I have always thought of pursuing my higher education in abroad and gain an International Degree.

So, I visited different consultancies where counselors provided different views for choosing different countries and colleges\universities. As I was interested in science stream in the Medical field, I decided to go to Australia as best rank college and universities are located there. Moreover, I choose Torrens University, Sydney because when I explore on internet, I found it to be one of the best college with good feedback overall. I choose Bachelor of Health Science (Nutritional Medicine) as it is relevant Course of my Choice.

Gap Explanation

Why Australia?

Australia is a country with diverse culture and safer environment and ranks as third most sought destination for international students with its universities consistently ranked among the top universities in the world. Australia has low crime rates compared to other countries Such as UK, USA and Canada. There is no doubt about the countries like USA and UK which provide world class education where UK’s climate, weather and cost of living are not as attractive as those of Australia and USA’s tuition fees are more or less similar with those of Australia; however, USA does not practice a uniform, whole nation accreditation system like Australia. The Australian Government regulates the education system in order to maintain the high standard of education associated with the country. Australia has a nationally accredited system for their vocational studies framework and this gives strong confidence to its quality. Australia provides dynamic and progressive education program with a reputation for excellence, globally recognized course and qualification and also provides unique kind of education and a learning style that encourages innovative, creative and independent thinking culture. Australian Institution rank among the world and it offers a wide range of courses from science to management and commerce, humanities to engineering and law of health science. There are 43 universities in Australia (40 Australian universities, two international universities, and one private specialty university). Along with our universities, many other institutions offer higher education courses.

The Australian education system has produced scientists, designers, educators, entrepreneurs, artists and humanitarians who have changed the world, won awards from Oscars to Nobel prizes. Living and studying in Australia can be very rewarding and puts me at the great social, cultural and educational opportunities. The education System of Australia is very different from other countries due to Australian Qualification Framework (AQF). As AQF is the national policy for regulated qualifications in Australian education and training, it incorporates the qualifications from each education and training sector into a single comprehensive national qualifications framework. It also provides better support services to international student than any other countries i.e. it has ESOS Act (Education Service for Overseas Students) that protects the rights of international students. Commonwealth registers of institutions and courses for overseas student (CRICOS) code. The Tuition Protection Service (TPS) ensures the protection of tuition fees. On the other hand, the Post Study Work (PSW) which allows international students to work temporarily in Australia is a bonus to the international students which helps to widen the knowledge and gain experience that we can utilize to provide service to our nation. The health insurance opportunity (OSHC) in Australia also provides safety against any health issues. Added to it, Australia offers Post Study Work opportunity for international student which is a good opportunity to have an international working experience. Australia, being an English speaking nation, is a home to student’s from various countries. This will, certainly provide me better exposure and share ideas with a varied audience. Living standard in Australia is the highest compared to other destinations across the world, while the living expenses are comparatively lower. In addition, lots of friends and known persons are studying and working in Australia whose satisfaction also attracts me and would really be helpful during my study tenure. I would be blessed to get opportunity to continue my education in Australia.

Reason for choosing Sydney:

After my research in different cities in Australia, I chose Sydney as a destination for my further study as it is the largest state in Australia. Also, Sydney is the oldest, biggest and most beautiful of all Australian cities, lies amid a seductive intermingling of land and sea. Famous tourist spots like Sydney Opera House, Sydney Harbor and Blue Mountain also lure people Sydney. Sydney offers plenty of historical and contemporary Australian flavors. Sydney is the most popular education destination where the top ranked colleges and universities like Western Sydney University, Southern Cross University, Victoria University and so on, are located. The geographical climate of Sydney is quite similar to that of my country Nepal. A lifestyle that is hard to match as Sydney offers one of the highest standards of living in the world and yet is more affordable. International students receive a 40% discount on all public transport and buses within Sydney city centre. It has the humid sub-tropical, shifting from mild and cold in winter to warm and hot in the summer, with no extreme seasonal difference as the weather is moderated by proximity to the ocean.

Reasons for choosing Torrens University, Sydney:

Torrens University Australia was recognized by an act of the South Australian parliament in 2013 (Torrens University Australia Act 2013), making it the 40th university in Australia and the first new university for 20 years. Torrens University, Australia is a part of Laureate International University, a leading international network of quality institutions of higher education comprised of 70 universities across 25 countries. Torrens offers courses through its Vertical structure in 5 fields of study being Business, Design, Health, Hospitality and Education. Torrens University Australia offers a range of career programs in the faculties of Business, Design, Health and Hospitality for study on-campus, online or a hybrid of both. With further exploring through internet, I came to conclusion that I will choose Torrens University, Sydney for studying the course Bachelor of Health Science (Nutritional Medicine). Beside, Torrens University, I also did several researches for other colleges providing Bachelors Degree. I did comparison of tuition fee, course structures, and location and entry requirements by different education providers of Australia. Most of the universities like Western Sydney University, Endeavour college of Natural Health, University of Sydney, Australian college of Natural Therapies also provides Bachelor of Health Science (Nutritional Medicine) but was amazed when comparing the fee structure of these universities with Torrens University. Torrens University is very much affordable in respect to the above mentioned universities and provides several programs to support International students including leadership and diplomat programs designed to provide skill development and mentor training which will help me become a better person in life. Therefore, studying in Torrens University can be very beneficial in both economically and financially.

Reason for Choosing Bachelor of Health Science (Nutritional Medicine)

The dream of people is always based on the time and situation. The course is based on inquiry-based learning, critical thinking and reflective practice in relation to the theory and practice of about the responsibilities involved in engaging with groups of people and individuals about their growth, development and observing to learn about their interests and needs. Nutritional medicine is based on the traditions of food as medicine and dietary planning. It combines these disciplines with scientific advances in the treatment, management and prevention of disease using food and nutrient as therapeutics. I strongly believe in ”Survival of the fittest” as every single individual tries their best to earn a Healthy, happy and satisfactory life. I have always believed that my real and strong determination to face the challenges in life will lead me towards the path of success. This also requires assisting with health, safety and care needs and helps in maintaining clean and hygienic environments, and interactions with parents. (https://www.acnt.edu.au/courses/health-science/bachelor-of-health-science-nutritional-medicine)

I have completed my +2 studies from Nepal and have decided to study Bachelor of Health science (Nutritional Medicine) from Torrens University, Sydney to get international education to achieve my goals. The CRICOS Code of Bachelor of Health science (Nutritional Medicine) is 084577G. It is the course study of duration of 3 years course study where I need to complete all together 36 units. In each year of Bachelor of health Science (Nutritional medicine), there will be 12 units in each semester. The subjects credit of this course is of 24 of 36 where credit points is of 240 of 360    (1 units= 10 credit points) during the time interval of 3 years. In this course, I will study human and therapeutic nutrition, food pharmacy, biochemistry, path physiology, the food system and public health as well as the government policy that regulates them. It will help to gain an understanding of how diet and nutritional status can impact our health, and how therapeutic nutritional intervention can achieve wellbeing. The total fee structure of this course in 2019 is $64,260 AUD and the inductive annual fee in 2019 is $ 21,420 AUD for this courses.  The students will develop the critical thinking and problem solving skills as well as interdisciplinary approach needed to deal with current and emerging health issues. The course Bachelor of Health Science equips students with the knowledge and skills they need to be job-ready with professional placement, elective options or special courses as required by extended majors. On the brighter side, achievement of Bachelor of Health Science degree will open doors of different possible career outcomes for me which includes Health Policy Development, Project Development and Management, Environmental Health Officer, Epidemiologist, Research Analyst, Health Communication Specialist, Health writer, Health Education Officer, Technician, Clinical prosthetics or Orthotics, etc. These career outcomes will help me to strengthen my previous working experience skills as well as it will open varied opportunities at my door step on the completion of my course. Hence, Bachelor of Health Science (Nutritional Medicine) is the right place to continue my studies and fulfill my dreams to achieve its goals.

Reason of Not Choosing Nepal

In Nepal, there are limited opportunities for higher degrees in the field of health in Nutrition and Dietary sector. Firstly, I have planned to complete my Bachelor degree from Torrens University, Sydney and intend to continue my health science career in my home country. After exploring through the internet, In Nepal there is no any courses of Nutritional Medicine. Also, the institutions in Nepal are far from being at par with the international standards. I aspire for an education, recognized all over the world and not just within the given geographical boundary. Moreover, classroom sizes are too big that interaction between faculty and students create lot of communication gap. Further old methods are used in teaching which are more theoretical than practical. They mostly fail to provide practical skills required by the course. Not only that but studying  in Nepal is also limited only to our education system rather than learning the most modern concepts and international case studies in line with modern methodologies. Real life experience of being abroad and learning international ideas and styles will not be gained in Nepal. The education system in my country is more based on theoretical rather than casework and experiments. Probably there are very few multinational companies around the world who recognize Bachelor’s degree from Nepalese Universities and probably there are very few companies around the world who do not recognize Bachelor’s degree from Australian university. This is one important reason that motivates and leads me to choose Australia for further studies. I would love to study practically, this mean I want to exercise case studies; I want to conduct survey and data analysis. In addition, I want to develop projects and presentations, and another vital thing that I want to learn is group work and for all such practical methodology probably Australia is one of the globally renowned destinations in every stream of education. With the population of about 23 million, Australia has already received 15 Nobel Prizes. I found that after getting a degree from universities of Australia, students achieve practical knowledge and they can perform excellence in a workplace around the globe. Though Management courses are available here in Nepal along with opportunities, there is lack of graduates in our country. Not only that, the education here is theory based rather than practical and provides facilities. I discussed with my parents briefly about giving continuity to my further study in my home nation or in abroad. After understanding the education system of my country we preferred abroad for my further education. Also, it has been more than decades that I have been studying in Nepal and now I want to study in different environment where I will have an opportunity to meet people from different nations so that we can exchange ideas and culture too. Nepalese qualification is not globally competitive in compare with Australian degree. So along with the full support of my parents I preferred foreign for my further education.

Future plans

After finishing my study, I intend to continue my career in my home country in the field of health in Nutrition and Dietary sector. Firstly, I have planned to complete my Bachelor degree from Torrens University, Sydney and intend to continue my health science career in my home country. There is abundant scope of Nutritional Medicine in Nepal, but what we lack is skilled manpower working in this field because undergraduate courses offered in Nepal are not updated well. The International education degree from Torrens University, The field about bachelor of Health Science (Nutritional Medicine) provides good practical knowledge which help to deal with patients and also deal with their recovery. Food, nutrition and health are fundamental to wellbeing at every stage of life.

Similarly, there is lack of quality health care services, health education & care institutions, health knowledge and health practice in most of the areas of my country. Therefore, I want to use the knowledge gained in Australia to serve those people who most require it in my country. I wish to make contribution in this field so that more people will receive quality services and somehow improve the current scenario of Nutrition and Health services which will provide with an in-depth understanding of people and how to engage with them in a healthy and good environment in Nepal. Moreover, having an international degree would offer better career opportunities in the future. In my Country Nepal, There are lots of health care facilities like Nobel Medical Health and Teaching Hospital, Neuro Hospital, BPKIHS and the number of the health science centers are also increasingly tremendously. Furthermore, if I choose to become a health instructor, I will definitely get a golden opportunity to work for popular institutes, such as IOM, KU, PU and other institute affiliated to CTEVT and can earn up to NRS. 60,000 to 80,000 per month. Besides hospitals, there are lots of National and International NGO and INGO like UNESCO, WHO, UNICEF, UNDP, FPAN, etc therefore, what I believe is that there is wide opportunity for an international health science graduate in my home country where I could comfortably earn more than 100000 NRS and even more per month and maintain my livelihood being close to my loved ones. International degree of Australia is highly recognized in Nepal where Bachelor of Health Science (Nutritional medicine) is a great profession. So, I am convinced that my degree and experience will not just enhance my academic achievements, but also empower the chances of my success in the field of Nutrition and Dietary in future. Therefore, I will return back to my home country Nepal where certain responsibility is there towards me to fulfill parent’s dreams. So, I am convinced that my degree and experience will not just enhance my academic achievements, but also empower the chances of my success in the future. When I will be back to my home country, I will really utilize my knowledge and expertise to achieve my goals for better career.

Financial Arrangements:-

Regarding the financial arrangements required for the completion of my study in Australia including the tuition fees, living expenses, transportation, OSHC and many others, my family members are really conscious towards it. I want to assure you that my parents will sponsor for my study and stay in Australia. As per my family, ( Parents Name) will play sponsors role for me throughout the course time in Australia. My income source is from my father’s income who is a finance officer at Red Cross Society, mother’s income who is Labour In-charge at Everest Graphic Printers. Since my childhood, my family is supporting me in every sector mainly in education and also will be supporting me for my further study too to get an international degree. My parents strongly believe that investment in education never goes waste and quality education has always been their utmost priority. I, therefore, would like to ensure that my parents are happily willing to invest on my stay and study in Australia.

Visa Condition

I am well aware of visa subclass 500 student categories which will be aware during the stay in Australia. Some of the student Visa condition is listed below:-

  • I cannot work more than 40 hours per fortnight when the course is in session.
  • I must maintain 80% attendance in this course progress for each study period as required by education provider.

  • I cannot change University before 6 months upon my enrollment.
  • I must notify the education provider within 7 days if I change my address and contact details.
  • I must maintain Health insurance during the stay in Australia which will be provided by obtaining Overseas Student health Cover (OSHC).

Declaration

I would like to assure you that I will be under the rules of visa subclass 500 and I will give my best effort in learning and developing knowledge and skills regarding my subject matter. I will finish my intended course in exact time with good grades and will return back to my home country for achieving my future goal.

Thank you

My parents have been a great source of inspiration who has always taught me about humanity and to serve for it. Also, they have motivated me to be dexterous for a better career and I have always dreamt of having an international degree, to learn in a multicultural environment, to groom myself in an advanced, sophisticated and modern corporate culture so that I can compete in this global world. Therefore, I have decided to study a Bachelor of Business at the Australian Institute of Higher Education, Sydney Australia.

ACADEMIC BACKGROUND

Talking about my education background, I have always been genuine in my studies. I have completed my School Leaving Certificate (S.L.C) examination in 2XXX securing XX from  School Name. Recently, I have recently passed my National Educational Board in 2XXX in Management Stream securing XX from  College Name . I have taken IELTS classes and attend my IELTS examination on October 13, 2XXX where I was able to score an overall score 6 (Listening 6.5, Reading 5.5, Writing 5.5 and Speaking 5.5). After my IELTS scoring, my next step was to study aboard for my career educational plans. I was involved in different sorts of curriculum and programs held in schools and colleges I have visited different consultancies and counselors provided different views for choosing different universities. Finally, I decided to choose the Australian Institute of Higher Education and further proceed for the offer process on February 11, 2XXX.

As I was interested in the Management stream in the Business field, I decided to go to Australia as the best rank college and universities are located there. Moreover, I choose Australian Institute of Higher Education, Sydney because when I explore on the internet, I found it to be one of the best colleges with good feedback overall. I choose the course in AIHE is a Bachelor of Business where I came to realize that interesting subjects are passion towards me.

WHY AUSTRALIA?

I have chosen Australia for further education due to the following reasons. Australia is the sixth-largest country in the world, has grown to become one of the most preferred destinations of many students like me in recent years which seems unstoppable now. It’s being a diverse country has always warmly welcomed international students and I have found that Australia is the right place to continue my Bachelor’s Degree with international standards. There is no doubt about the countries like USA and UK which provide world-class education where UK and USA have a high crime rate, tuition fee and cost of living is very high there compared to Australia. Australia is the safest place, education fees are quite affordable and a good and friendly education system as compared to other countries like the USA, UK and so on. So, I prefer Australia because it is a top country to go for studying where it has some of the best colleges and universities in the world. Australian education accepts students with the skills, knowledge and contacts that will last a lifetime and gives every student that study with them, whether I study at a university or any other Institute or school, I will receive a quality education that will form a strong foundation for my future success. So, the main reason for choosing Australia as my educational destination is because of its high-quality education. It not only provides qualitative education but also provides affordable fees and living costs. The favorable climate and good social environment with a low crime rate can be added on the plus points of Australia as it helps to acquire qualitative education. The systematic education system in Australia attempts to prepare its students to enhance their education as well as careers by providing them with the latest technology. International students like me are attracted to Australia because of its quality education with worldwide recognition. There are different possibilities of scholarship where the Australian government provides more than 200 million Australian dollars for each and every year to international students which helps in the low cost of studying in Australia. Moreover, Australia facilitates its students with an advanced educational system.

The education system is properly inspected by the government in order to maintain the quality of education. Moreover, the most trustworthy part is that Australia has the provision of the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS) which is a register of Australian education institutions that recruit enroll and teach overseas students. So, everything is legalized and secured. On top of that to specify the standards for educational qualifications in Australia, it has an Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF). As AQF is the national policy for regulated qualifications in Australian education and training; it incorporates the qualifications from each education and training sector into a single comprehensive national qualifications framework. Australia follows the ESOS (Education Services for Overseas Student) Act 2000. The ESOS Framework ensures that students have access to tuition assurance (which acts like consumer protection). The ESOS framework includes an element like Tuition Protection Services (TPS) where the fees are safe and secured. On the other hand, the Post Study Work (PSW) which allows international students to work temporarily in Australia is a bonus to the international students which helps to widen the knowledge and gain experience that we can utilize to provide service to our nation. Australia has special health insurance coverage for the international students called Overseas Students Health Cover (OSHC) which will cover the unexpected sickness or any health emergency care. These rules and systems make Australia stand out from the rest of the world when considering the country and environment where we study. The learning and study process happens at a multi-cultural and global level, which enables me to work in any part of the world when I complete my studies. Due to multiple advantageous factors in the educational system in Australia for student and best ranges of courses, I choose Australia as a destination for further study.

REASON FOR CHOOSING SYDNEY:

Sydney is considered as one of the most popular oldest and largest cities in Australia, let alone in the world. It is situated in New South Wales and is known as the first city in Australia. Famous tourist spots for your travel tour in Sydney are Sydney Opera House, Sydney Harbor and Blue Mountain. Sydney offers plenty of historical and contemporary Australian flavors.  Sydney is Australia’s financial and educational hub where many prestigious colleges and universities are located in offering world-class education. Australia has altogether 43 universities where 13 universities are located in Sydney. A lifestyle that is hard to match as Sydney offers one of the highest standards of living in the world and yet is more affordable. International students receive a 40% discount on all public transport and buses within Sydney city center. It is a multicultural city and has the largest population where thousands of international students come to fulfill their educational background. The climate of Sydney is as similar to Nepal where it won’t be harder for me to live there sustainably. So, Studying in Sydney will definitely give me an international degree to build my career in the future.

REASON OF CHOOSING AIHE

Australian Institute of Higher Education (AIHE) located in central Sydney, Australia and offering high quality accredited degree, diploma and certificate courses in Business and Information System. It has competitive and affordable course fees comparison with other colleges and universities like Kings Own Institute, Kaplan Business School, University of New South Wales, etc. The Australian Institute of Higher Education (AIHE) is a registered CRICOS provider and a member of the Tuition Protection Scheme (TPS), an Australian Government initiative to protect international students whose education providers are unable to fully deliver their course of study. AIHE is student-centered, friendly and has a supportive learning environment. It provides courses designed to encourage students to develop a sound mix of theoretical and practical knowledge. AIHE has qualified professors, huge facilities, and a good reputation. This really encouraged me to study here. It will be an honor to be taught by such qualified professors. AIHE is suitable for students due to cultural diversity and friendly environment, the college is a great choice for students seeking out the benefits of a more personal learning environment which offers small class sizes so the student can get personal attention from teachers while studying. Fees offered by the College are more affordable than other Colleges and Universities. It is a great opportunity for me to study here and build my career on the right path. During my research for a suitable education provider, I explore on the internet where I got to know more about AIHE. Hearing from many international students about their experience in AIHE from their perspective, it excited me further to be a part of the AIHE family. It also offers the scholarship to deserving students like me (20 %). AIHE being internationally recognized education provider, it supports students to achieve their goal in a very friendly and supportive environment. I believe the facilities offered by the AIHE will help me gain experiences instrumental in my professional and intellectual development. I choose to study a bachelor in Business from the Australian Institute of Higher Education (AIHE) to complete my dream to become Successful Business Women.

REASON FOR CHOOSING BACHELOR OF BUSINESS

The dream of people is always based on the time and situation.  The Bachelor of Business prepares students for a wide range of careers in the world of business. The course is designed to provide a broad general education relating to business management, which brings together the sub-disciplines of accounting and finance, operations, people and organizations and marketing and strategy. While the introductory units are dedicated to one of these areas and collectively provide a balance of specialized treatments, the higher-level units tend to provide a more integrated treatment of all areas in each unit. The course is based on inquiry-based learning, critical thinking and reflective practice in relation to the theory and practice to achieve this aim the Bachelor of Business requires graduates to demonstrate both educational and professional outcomes. These studies are designed to produce graduates who have effective and industry-relevant knowledge and skills and who demonstrate capabilities for leadership in the business area.

I continue my further course studies in Australia by joining Bachelor of Business which is of 3 years course which includes Business Knowledge. In a Bachelor course, I can get a chance to learn more about culture, people, science, technology and also learn the Business skills to establish a business start-up, new enterprise, or support business innovation. For having a better career, quality education courses are much more important. I came to realize that my interesting subjects are a passion for myself, so I came to choose the Bachelor of Business degree because of my true interest and passion. I have completed my SLC and +2 educations from Nepal and want to complete my Bachelor of Business to get international education to achieve my goals. The fee structure is quite affordable for Bachelor of Business in the Australian Institute of Higher Education is of $48,000 which is of 3 years course including a 20% scholarship. To complete the degree, There are altogether 24 units that are included in this course and the CRISOS code of this course is 069532B. These units are divided into three levels based on contents and level of difficulty. The first level (Level 1000) has 8 core units. The second level (2000) has 1 core unit and the third level (Level 3000) also has 1 core unit. In addition, I will get to select 14 electives (7 electives from 2000 Level and 7 electives from 3000 Level except for ACC3005, ISY3002 & ISY3003). The course intake is in March, July and November. Under this course, I need to study subjects like; Business Communication, Organizational Behavior, Economics of Management, Business Research Project, Business and Corporations Law, etc.

Bachelor of Business studies is designed to produce graduates who have effective and industry-relevant knowledge and skills and who demonstrate capabilities for leadership in the business area. To achieve this aim the Bachelor of Business requires graduates to demonstrate both educational and professional outcomes. And, I want to know how I can bring changes on it and I can expect and explore them with an applied focus:

  • Reports, project documentation, case studies and presentations
  • Essays and assignments
  • Quizzes, class tests and examinations
  • Practical’s and team-based projects
  • Participation in class

REASONS FOR NOT CHOOSING NEPAL:

I didn’t choose Bachelor of Business from any Nepalese University because of the outdated coursework coupling with instability. In Nepal, there are limited colleges and universities that provide Business courses like, Texas International college, White house international college, Kathmandu University (KU), Tribhuwan University (TU), Pokhara University, Lincoln University, etc.  The course of Bachelor of Business in Nepal is which only shows theoretical knowledge where there is a lack of practical knowledge, quality of academic resources, lack of technological manpower, competitive teaching pedagogy, institutional facility, and my choice of coursework are also notable factors leading my decision for foreign study. So, I did not choose Nepal for my Bachelor’s degree because I am looking for an international degree where I can find both theoretical and practical ways of teaching and learning which I was not able to find in Nepal. We know for the fact that the old courses have to be changed with the arrival of new ones and technologies should be added each and every year where still changes are not quite practiced in Nepal. Even with the arrival of new editions of books, we still follow the old ones focusing on theoretical learning rather than practical which is one of the main cons of the education system here. There is only a certain limited number of seats with high competition throughout the country. In Nepal, these subjects have to be studied under separate courses and degrees where the international degree of Australia is highly recognized in Nepal. I am choosing Australia over Nepal for my higher studies because I wanted to enhance my skill-set, my knowledge base, and properly explore my caliber as a global Business student, which I cannot do here in Nepal. So, I finally decided to choose the Bachelor of Business at AIHE to get an International degree.

FUTURE PLANS

I strongly believe that the degree which I will get from the Australian Institute of Higher Education will provide me with good opportunities in the global workplace and enhances my career. As we know, Nepal is a developing country and we have huge potential in every sector in the present day, be it any sector. So soon after the completion of my management program, I will be returning back to my home country with quality academic and work experiences to start my professional career in the business management field. After completion of my course and graduation degree in Australia, with knowledge in mind and degree in hand, I look forward to returning back to my home country Nepal where certain responsibility is there towards me to fulfill my parent’s dreams. A degree from a reputed college and institute and relevant experience in Australia will definitely help me to get a good job in Nepal. I will first prefer to work in the business and administration department of the business organization like in the post of administrator, departmental head, corporate manager, human resource adviser as well as I can also apply for mid-level of managerial post in the various corporate houses such as Hulas Automobiles, Chaudhary Groups, Surya Nepal and different financial and banking institutions like Standard Chartered Bank, Nabil Bank, NSBI Bank, etc with a monthly pay scale of NPR 50,000 to 65,000/-. With the growing experience and network and connections with the industrial personnel and experts, I will gradually work to start up my own business in the near future and give full effort in the field of business and management and also contribute towards the development of the economy of my country. I am looking forward to achieving my study permit to study Bachelor of Business at AIHE, with the sole motive to enhance my career and wings to fly start my career ahead.

FINANCIAL ARRANGEMENTS

As per the financial arrangement of my proposed education, my parents will sponsor for my study and stay in Australia. As per my family, (Parent’s Name ) will play sponsors role for me throughout the course time in Australia. Our income source is from my father’s salary who is serviceman, mother’s salary who is also Servicewomen. We also have an income from House Lease (Plot no 1728). Since my childhood, my family is supporting me in every sector mainly in education and also will be supporting me for my further study too to get an international degree. We also have bank balance in NEPAL SBI Bank Limited for my living, traveling and study expenses. My parents strongly believe that investment in education never goes waste and quality education has always been their utmost priority. I, therefore, would like to ensure that my parents are happily willing to invest in my stay and study in Australia.

VISA CONDITIONS UNDER VISA SUBCLASS 500:

Born in a remote village of western Nepal and a small family of four members, I was interested in the electrical field from childhood. I used to play with electrical devices and components. When I got any damaged electronic devices like watches and radios, I would eject magnet from the speaker of radios, bulbs like LEDs from watches and radios. I tried to take out the coiled wire from transformers many times, but never could. This behavior of mine raises my passion for electrical engineer. When I was in Grade Eight, I tried to do simple wiring in a home without the permission of my parents. I was going to add a new bulb in a coop which was attached to my bedroom. I brought few meters of wires, bulb holder, switch and insulating tape. I connected the bulb holder to the piece of wire. Then, one terminal of wire to power supply wire and through the switch. I insulated the naked ends of two wires using insulating tape. For my convenience, I attached joining part of the wire to a plain tin plate of the window. Plain tin plate is attached in the window to avoid stinking in another room. Finally, I switched on the main supply and that switch I added in a circuit, and bulb glowed. But accidentally, I touched the tin plate of the window and got electrocuted. I found two wires were not insulated properly and had contacted with tin plate. As a result, I tried to apply some safety precaution while operating and playing with such devices to some extent from that day. That incident in sighted me to work with electricity but to handle with care.  On the other hand, I was happy because of successfully glowing the bulb.

When I grew up and joined GCE A-level, I met a new friend named Divas Subedi in the orientation class. He taught me the different concepts of electrical science and mathematics which I never heard and knew. He imparted the knowledge of different electrical components like capacitor, transistor and diode. When I knew about the semi-conductor I was surprised by the nature of it. I never think that such electrical devices exist in the world. So, it was difficult for me to accept and understand it. As a result, I began to do research and study more about such a minute but an amazing electronic component at home. I learned more from him rather than on the internet because he made me understand more conceptually and easily. My interest in electrical science raised due to the interaction with him.

One day, I heard about On-grid Photo-voltaic System existing in Japan. A photo-voltaic system is the conversion of solar energy (sunlight) into electricity. In the on-grid photo-voltaic system, excess electricity (that is not needed in the home) is fed to the utility grid. In this technology, no electricity is wasted. But in the case of Nepal, the needed electricity is stored in the battery and extra electricity is wasted, so I was fascinated by the wise utilization of excess electricity in an on-grid photo-voltaic system. Then, I thought deeply about the implementation of the on-grid photo-voltaic system here in Nepal, I found, it has got huge potential in Nepal. It can minimize the energy crisis problem of Nepal to great extent and saves millions of Dollar to buy electricity from India. After that, I started to do research about On-grid Photo-voltaic System and prepare one research paper, Commercial Rooftop Photo-voltaic System in Nepal. It becomes my dream project. To implement my dream project here in Nepal, I have to be an electrical engineer. My research includes the potential of On-grid Photo-voltaic system in Nepal and how will I implement this technology here in Nepal. My research work is entirely based on data taken from authentic sources of the internet. So, I want to do deep research on my dream project. I will use modern tools and technology to collect accurate and reliable data. I will research to make the on-grid photo-voltaic system more efficient and economic.

I am in search of such a place where I can do a deep study of the on-grid photo-voltaic system and sharpen my knowledge of electrical science. I research about the different educational institutions (universities and colleges) of Nepal. I found a lack of modern tools and technology along with tough unhealthy competition in that institution. Similarly, I had done GCE A-level, so there is a big gap between high school and bachelor because the syllabus of bachelor degree in that institution is based on the high school board of Nepal i.e. HSEB. As a result, I made a plan to do further education from an English speaking country because I am familiar and proficient in the English language. I started to do research about the best English speaking country in terms of education.

I found Australia as a suitable country for me. Firstly, Australia is one of the popular destination countries for international students. Australia is one of the safest and healthiest countries in the world. The climate of Australia is also favorable, so it is considered as one of the livable countries of the world. People from different countries reside in Australia so, it is a multicultural country. Consequently, I can adjust easily to Australia. Talking about the education of Australia, the education system of Australia is globally recognized so, I can establish myself here in Nepal after graduation. Australia has a research and practical based education system rather than theory and paper-based education system. Colleges and Universities use modern tools and technology while teaching. They update the syllabus and curriculum with the change of time. Tuition and fees of Australian colleges and universities are cheaper than that of the USA and the UK. As a result, I made a plan to study in Australia.

There are many options and opportunities in Australia. There are hundreds of colleges and universities. So, it is a challenge for me to choose the right university for me. After doing lots of research about Australian universities, I found, Edith Cowan University as the best fit for me. ECU was founded in 1991 and one of the youngest Universities with high achievement in Australia. It is a top 150 young university in the world. It is a five star rated university. It is located in Perth which is one of the liable city of the world with the favorable climatic condition. There are 6,000 international students out of 30,000 students from over 100 countries so, this university is a multicultural university. This university provides excellent support facilities to international students. This university provides affordable housing, well-facilitated Library, medical center, Counselling service and many more. This university is one of the affordable universities in Australia for engineering courses and provides the best scholarship scheme to international students. ECU’s engineering school is one of the fastest growing Engineering schools in Australia. The engineering program of ECU is accredited by Engineers Australia. (Engineers Australia is one and only engineering accrediting program of Australia and provides international recognition.) The Bachelor of Electrical engineer in ECU is 4 years long course. A number of credit point needed to earn a bachelor degree is 32 units and a Practicum unit. The major key subjects that I will learn are fundamental of energy systems, power electronics and electrical machines and develop the skill to design and build the systems for the generation and utilization of electric energy. Edith Cowan University provides the best research and a minimum of 12 weeks of internship opportunity in a big and multinational company. A large number of electrical engineer related research works are being done in ECU. The research work named smart energy system is related to my dream project i.e. Commercial Rooftop Photo-voltaic System in Nepal. As a result, I can join in that research activities, learn the new idea and implement that idea here in Nepal after graduation.

ECU helps me to build my career in the field of electrical engineering, Power Systems Engineer, Renewable Energy Engineer and so on. After graduation, I want to specialize in my career in a Power System Engineer. (Power System Engineer works in the field of generation, transmission, distribution and utilization of electric power.) I will return back in Nepal and join the Power system company of Nepal like Surya Power Company Pvt. Ltd., Gham Power Nepal Pvt. Ltd. and Solar Electric Manufacturers’ Association Nepal. After working there for a few years and having some experience, I will open small engineering consultancy in Nepal. This company deals with providing technical support to install a solar array in houses and offices. After having sufficient budget, experience, good team and client from that small consultancy, I will expand my consultancy in order to introduce my dream project i.e. on-grid photo-voltaic system based on commercial rooftop system in Nepal.

Regarding my academics background, I had completed my school and high school with excellent marks. I am a bonafide student from my childhood. I had completed my SLC (grade 10) from the School name and address. This school is one of the renowned schools of Pokhara Valley. I had completed SLC in 2015. I did my GCE A-level (2015-2017) from Institution Name and address. It is one of the top GCE A-level colleges in Nepal.

I had graduated from GCE A-level in August 2017. Then, I made a plan to give IELTS exam. I started to join the IELTS class. I took a class for 45 days. After that, a big festival of Nepal, Dashain and Tihar approached. This festival falls in November and October Consequently, I could not book the IELTS examination date before November. Then I gave the IELTS exam on the last of November 2017. Unfortunately, I could not secure an excellent score in IELTS. I had to give the English Proficiency Examination again. I planned to give the PTE exam. It is because we can easily get a date for PTE examination and the result is also published within five days. PTE is a computer based examination and I am more familiar with computer typing. I joined the one-month PTE class and did more labor than last time. Finally, I gave the PTE exam in March and secured a good score so that, I am eligible for in Engineering course in Australia.  In the three months gap between IELTS and PTE exams, I had not only prepared for PTE, but I had also started to do research about my dream project i.e. Commercial Rooftop Photo-voltaic System in Nepal. Once the PTE result published, I started to research different universities in Australia. It took me about one month (March-April) to select suitable universities. After that, I planned to apply for admission in July Intake but I could not due to insufficient time. My parents were not financially prepared because they had to sell land for my education. Then, I did a detailed study about Australia, Australian universities and Consultancies in that gap time. I had also continued my research work on a dream project. In July, I was fully prepared. I had done a complete study about Australian Universities and Consultancies and select the best universities and consultancies for me. I had also completed the research about the dream project. My parents were also financially prepared. They were able to sell the land for my education. Then, I start the application process.

Talking about my leadership and extra curriculum activities (ECA), I was a school captain while in Grade 10 (2XXX/2XXX) and a member of the Chelsea Prefect Council while in high school (2XXX/2XXX). When I was school captain, it is my great responsibility to conduct school assembly and coordinate with ECA teacher and student during extra curriculum activities. Some of the extra curriculum activities conducted under my leadership in the school are JCA Basketball Tournament, Teachers day, sports meet, etc. When I was a member of the Chelsea Prefect Council, we prefects organized the annual event (Chelsea Extravaganza), children day program, Welcome program, etc. I had participated in Physics Olympiad conducted by Nepal Physical Society in Grade 12 and District level Mathematics Olympiad in grade 10. I volunteered in the national level badminton tournament organized by Vidya Sanskar School in 2XXX. I secured second position and third position in Chelsea Extravaganza Quiz Competition (2XXX) and World Environment Day Quiz Competition (2016) respectively. I will continue to participate in extra curriculum activities and build up my leadership quality in the coming days.

I am fully aware of the restriction that I should follow while in Australia under a student visa (subclass 500). They are:

  1. I must enroll in the course approved by the government and continue my course by maintaining satisfactory attendance in my course and course progress for each study period.
  2. I am not allowed to work more than 20 hours a week during the course is in session and unlimited hours during course break.
  3. I must have sufficient arrangements for health insurance.

At last, ECU is the place to sharpen the knowledge of on-grid photo-voltaic systems and electrical engineering. Once I join ECU, I guaranteed you that I will do hard labor in such a way so that I can introduce and implement my dream project here and serve my country Nepal. And four years in ECU will become the turning point of my life. Hence, I request you to accept my statement of purpose and help me to turn my dream into reality.

Sincerely,
