My interest in the area of IT sector has pushed me a mile further for strengthening my enjoyment in studies, work experiences, and training. My name is your name, son of father name and mother name. I was born on the date of birth. I am from your permanent address. My bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering has always been a life changing experience and has inspired me to put the knowledge into my Master degree. Now, I plan to pursue a Master of Information Technology and System from the University of Tasmania, Hobart, Australia.

I would like to present my past performances as my credentials for success in the future. My academic performance was good and this acted as a booster and made me look at the future with confidence and excitement. I successfully completed my School Leaving Certificate (SLC) from School name and address with academic %, in the year 2005. I appeared for the exam on 25th June 2018 and successfully secured an overall score of 57 (Listening 55, Reading 63, Speaking 65 and Writing 51).

As the outcome of my research, I choose Australia because it is a very popular destination with a high quality of education. Australia has got top ranking Universities which provide excellent quality of education and has global recognition. The education system is more practical and carrier oriented with a good international impression which can help students to prepare themselves for the competitive job market and to cope up with demanding challenges at work. Friendly environment, top quality education with innovative teaching styles, interactive classrooms, projects, and visual presentations and many more features have made the country an ever-welcoming destination for international students. I also attracted by the multicultural and peaceful cities with impressive health and safety standards, low crime rate, considerably affordable living expensive than US, UK and has favorable weather conditions and comfortable learning environment.

Australia has seven of the top 100 universities in the world. Australia offers a wide range of study option for international students, with over 22,000 courses across 1,100 institutions. Australia education system ranks 8th in the world ahead of countries such as UK, Germany, and Japan. In addition to these, The Australia Government invested over $200,000,000 per year for an international scholarship which makes studying in Australia more accessible for international students. All the universities of Australia must be registered with CRICOS (Common Wealth Register of Institute and course for Overseas Student) so it ensures that we get a quality education, Australia has also enacted more student-friendly laws than most countries. The Education Services for Overseas Students (ESOS) framework, has benefited international students like me with various liberal opportunities and support services. This framework ensures the international students to meet the requirements of various education and training services along with various rights of students. Tuition Protection Service (TPS) provides a flexible approach for placement and refund services for international students.

Comparing between my country and Australia, we seem to lack an effective learning environment and proper research methodology in education especially IT being a practically oriented subject. In Nepal, there are few universities that offer Masters in Information Technology such as Kathmandu University, Dhulikhel, Nepal which enrolls only 10 students per intake which is very challenging for getting admission, Pokhara University, Purbanchal University, and Tribhuvan University. However, many problems still exist for students such as troubling schedule at Tribhuvan, Pokhara and Purbanchal University, teaching styles are old fashioned, outdated systems, etc. The education system is not as liable in Nepal as we have less qualified teachers as most of them are beginners to this profession who start teaching for gaining personal expertise rather than for being a professional teacher. We are limited to books and have less practical exposure. We lack research centers and internship offers which are obviously harming students for facing the competitive market in the future. A few of the institutes here in our country also offer Master Level courses in IT, in collaboration with foreign Universities, but those courses are not recognized worldwide.  Besides that, the masters’ degrees offered here in our own country also place less emphasis on the practical aspect.

After choosing Australia, I searched some universities which offer this course in Australia such as Charles Sturt University (CSU), Central Queensland University (CQU), Charles Darwin University (CDU), La Trobe University and University of Tasmania. I gathered important information about those education providers such as tuition fee, admission requirements, teaching faculties, and learning environment. I found The University of Tasmania is the best option for me in terms of tuition fee, admission policy, and course structure. It is currently ranked in 287 in the world in the 2018 QS World University Rankings and 17th in Australia. It provides more than 100 undergraduate (bachelor) degrees and more than 150 postgraduate programs, from graduate certificates through to research degrees with five colleges and three specialist institutes, and includes degrees in architecture, environmental management, engineering, medicine, nursing, business finance, ICT, and aquaculture, and more. Moreover, the University of Tasmania is highly regarded internationally for teaching and academic excellence. Masters in Information Technology and Systems is available in two cities where study centers are in Hobart and Launceston. Hobart is the capital of Tasmania, Australia’s island state and very suitable place for accommodation as it is also the southernmost city on the continent. Hobart is the prime position for exploring Australia’s natural wonders and eye-catching destinations like Tasmania Museum and Art Gallery, Museum of Old and New Art, Mount Wellington, Salamanca Markets and spectacular views of the harbor. It is also one of the most affordable places to study and live in Australia with a multicultural population to around 220,000 people. These features can ensure qualitative education and favorable learning environment to the international students. I believe that I have made a promising decision to proceed my educational journey ahead at UTAS which I believe will turn out very handy and a great asset for me and my country in the future.

I have picked Masters of Information Technology and Systems in UTAS, the course provides a wide breadth of knowledge of varying aspects of information technology (IT) and information systems (IS). The course knowledge, understanding, and skills enable to deal effectively with advanced issues involving IT and IS. The technological advancements in recent times are growing at an incredible pace. The duration of the MITS is 2 years. MITS at UTAS offers two core Subjects, one is with 16 subjects and another is with 12 subjects. I am interested in 12 subjects program which has various subjects that are:

The degree I will be pursuing from Australia will be a great asset in enhancing my career here in Nepal. Students with International master’s degree and good work experience from abroad are highly demanded here in Nepal which makes easy to find a permanent position in either the public or private sector. It is also known widely that Information Technology professionals are well paid, compared to other professions.  With my skills on the database system, information systems, advanced research project, data storage and file management, network technology, and management, etc, I would be able to be a part of reputed software companies such as Log point, Leapfrog, Deer Walk, Cloud Factory, SPI Pvt. Ltd, etc. I could work as a Database Administrator holding around 1,00,000 NRs – 1,50,000NRs monthly within some years of my engagement in an IT organization or reputed companies where my responsibilities would be ensuring security and integrity of the database, monitoring systems, documentation, planning and allocating future storage requirements, troubleshooting database issues and so on. I could also work as a Network Architect or a System Administrator with satisfying income. My degree can lead me to banks or government institutions in Nepal. Overall, Masters in Information and Technology and Systems at UTAS will help me flourish my ability which will enable me to acquire expertise and contribute to my motherland.
