Statement of Purpose (PRAAADHA)

Introduction
I would like to introduce myself as Applicant’s name, a Nepalese citizen with a valid passport numbered XXXXXXX. I am a son of Mr. Father’s name and Mrs. Mother’s name was born on D.O.B. Although I was born, raised and educated in Kathmandu, Nepal I am a permanent resident of Location name. I believe,” Without passion you don’t have energy, and without energy you have nothing” as to gain everything leading my passion to be successful and top Business man has led me to purchase my higher education in business stream. I am applying for Bachelor in Business (Management) in college name for Intake

Academic Qualification and work experience
With the constant support, motivation and care from my parents and seniors. I became able to pass my School Leaving Certificate (SLC) exam in year A.D. with GPA XX from School name  located in Location name l. Regularly, I passed Higher Secondary in year A.D . Securing XX GPA from college name, Location name . I have no backlogs in my entire study history.

After my high secondary level examinations, I started a job in company name  as an Marketing Executive in Year A.D. Working at company name  led me to acquire basic knowledge about Nepalese business environment, where most of the businesses are traditionally run and entrepreneurs lack modern tools, techniques, training and education. These could be the factors acting as hindrances along with many other variables for under development of Nepal and the Nepalese society. After working in company name  , I decided to pursue further education in business from abroad. Although there are established educational institutions in Nepal and some are also in existence for more than 50 years, the effort to deliver quality education has always remained dissatisfied. Further I wanted to learn about recent business trends, transformations and get exposed to international market scenario.  I wish to learn about business functionality modules in developed countries and bring in new techniques and technology to strengthen businesses in Nepal.

Australia’s excellent education system will certainly make my graduate studies the next professional stepping stone in my career, programs provided at college name will definitely help me with a practical teaching/ research experience in a cross-cultural working environment as well as a great responsibility and obligation for hard work. Since I have realized that being Businessman is my dream, my aim and my interest, I can do best in this area with determined focus and a hundred percent devotion.

My Aspiration
Always guided by my passion to do something good for my family and I have always wanted to make the best of myself.  If Australia provides me with an opportunity to study, there I can feel that I can finally make my parents and my country proud. With the aim that I can bring the change in this field I want to complete my further studies abroad so that I can learn the necessary skills for fulfilling my dream of bringing advance change in business system.  As Nepal’s education system lacks in teaching us a real-life problem and how to solve them. So, my main purpose for choosing college name is because the curriculum of the college can make me stronger and clearer on the knowledge that I have picked up as a graduate in bachelor of business.  Grades, class rank or even standardized tests can never accurately measure the inner carves of achieving one’s dream. It is just an ongoing process of acquiring knowledge both in the formal classroom and though the uneven experiences provided by day to day life. It is the potential that it holds to face any circumstances. Education if limited to only certificates is totally futile until it is implemented for the welfare of the humanity. For me education must be able to uplift the status of an individual along with the renewal of humanity and basic standard of humanity.

Why Not Nepal?
There are many renowned colleges and universities in Nepal such as Tribhuvan University, Kathmandu University, Pokhara University etc but Nepalese degree is not globally competitive. Also, it takes 4 years to complete a Bachelor’s degree in Nepal.  Also, colleges have limited seats and only yearly intake. Most of the colleges need entrance exams also for admission and if a student not selected has to wait for another year for the admission. Also, I already studied for a long time in Nepal and also worked and now I want to experience a different education from abroad where I will not only get the degree but also get a chance to meet students from different countries, can make friends globally, can exchange different cultures while staying with them together. I will also explore the international environment, develop my personality, improve my English proficiency level and know the time management skills. Another reason for not studying in Nepal is If I have the international degree, I can get priority for the job in Nepal and also get a high salary compared to local degree holders. Nepal lacks all the infrastructures and management skills in each and every aspect of the educational field. The problem plaguing the education system of Nepal are multidimensional like participation, explosion lack of resources, non-participation of private sector, scarcity of qualified manpower, insufficient education management system, wastes of resources, poor implementation of policies and program, lack of skilled teachers, careless checking and ignorance of results and so on. Being a conscientious student, I decided to pursue my further education in foreign country through which I can get a globally recognized degree over the world as my home country cannot provide. It’s hard to believe but it’s the truth of Nepalese education system. The world is developing at a quick pace with globalization. However, Nepal is a developing country and it does not have a solid base for reasonable and organized education for the recent international job market. There certainly has been a steady change in the education framework of Nepal but still it cannot meet the international standard. The educational foundations of Nepal in larger amounts are ordinary and not on parallel level with worldwide education providers. In researching international education, I found them ahead of our education system in many aspects. Thus, I have chosen to study abroad.

Why Australia?
Australia is known as the best destination for International students which has 5 out of 30 best cities for students in the world. It has practical based classes and the courses are updated. Australia is a very friendly country for international students. It has policies such as Tuition Protection Service (TPS) which protects fees if my college is not able to provide me with my course. Australia has top 7 universities in 100 top universities among all these finding a university which has affordable tuition fees and high quality teaching skills was a tough job. The environment is safe and friendly for international students. Students can find world class facilities quality education and best teaching methods and globally recognized degrees. The Quality education will guide me to better career opportunities and provide an international degree. The rights of international students are protected by the Australian government and they secure the investment of international students. As well as Australia has ESOS act through this act international students in Australia are protected by educational Service for overseas students. Every Australian institution that meets these requirements is listed on the publicly available Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS). This act also protects the rights of international students while studying in Australia. Australian crime rate is very low and the political condition is stable and a safe nation for students. One of the most hallmark reasons that made me choose Australia is that the Australian government is committed to provide the post study work (PSW) Visa has given access for international students to work in Australia for two years once they finish their education for work experience. Apart from it, these countries did not have any frameworks build for students like the ones in Australia which safeguarded student’s right to education, fees along with a sound safe learning environment.

Why Melbourne?
Melbourne is the capital and most populous city of the Australian state of Victoria, and the second most populous city in Australia and Oceania. Its name refers to an urban agglomeration of 9,993 km2 comprising a metropolitan area with 31 municipalities, and is also the common name for its city Centre. The city occupies much of the coastline of Port Phillip Bay and spreads into the hinterlands towards the Dandenong and Macedon ranges, Mornington Peninsula and Yarra Valley. It has a population of 5 million (19% of the population of Australia). I decided to choose Melbourne over other Australian cities, as Australia’s most prominent and well known schools are based in Melbourne. Of the top twenty high schools in Australia according to the Better Education ranking, six are in Melbourne. There has also been a rapid increase in the number of International students studying in the city. Furthermore, Melbourne was ranked the world’s fourth top University City in 2008 after London, Boston and Tokyo in a poll commissioned by the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology. Melbourne is the home of seven public universities: The University of Melbourne, Monash University, Swinburne University of Technology, Deakin University, Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT University), La Trobe University, and Victoria University. It means it is an educational city.

Why not other English speaking countries?
In order to pursue my further education in early childhood development and care, I searched for this course in countries like USA, UK and Australia. While going in different educational consultancies and my personal internet research I got information about different test requirements to study in the USA such as Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT), American College Test (ACT) and TOEFL’s. I will compulsorily have to take the SAT examination and go through different screening phases. This is both a time consuming and costly process.  Also, it takes 4 years to complete a Bachelor’s degree. Whereas, in the UK there had been frequent changes in policies relating to foreign students, moreover, many universities and colleges had been blacklisted in the past few years. There is no Tuition Protection System in the UK like Australia. Also, both of these countries have experienced an increase in the number of criminal activities in the past year and the situation still remains unchanged. Moreover, Australian colleges and universities are affordable in comparison to other countries like the USA, UK. The climate condition of Canada is cold. The temperature can climb down to -30 degrees Celsius in winter which is very difficult to adapt for a person like me who has grown up in a temperate climatic zone. Whereas, the climate of Australia is somewhat similar to that of Nepal which will be easy to adapt. Also, the living expense of Canada is higher than that of Australia.

Students at college name come from a range of different ethnic and cultural backgrounds providing a multicultural learning environment for all. At any one time there are students from over 40 different countries studying across the English language, vocational and higher education courses. Also, it offers small class sizes. I also researched some other providers in Australia for the same course such as Deakin University, Southern Cross University, Kaplan Business School, Federation University, La Trobe University, Kent Institute etc and compared the tuition fees, class size etc. Most of the above mentioned Universities have above AUD amount per year tuition fees for the same course and same accreditation. Also, most of the Universities have large class sizes where I can study in small class size in College with just 25 students in a class.  I also, compared the course structure and specialization options, locations, student care support provided by the college. Kaplan Business School also has the same course but the fee is high and they have specific IELTS requirements of each band. So, comparing all these factors I decide to study in college name.
