“BACHELOR OF BUSINESS INFORMATION SYSTEMS”

Statement of Purpose (RIYAATHA)

Introduction
Introducing myself, I am Applicant’s name , a person with a positive mindset and helping character. I am a permanent resident of location name , Nepal possessing a citizenship number and passport number  issued from location name. I live with my mother, father, grandmother and my maternal grandmother. My family holds a good status and prestige in society. My parents have devoted their valuable time in grooming me up and for my education. So, I am looking forward to achieving a Bachelor of Business Information Systems (BBIS) in the College name.

Academic Qualification
Regarding my education qualification, I had completed my Secondary Education Examination (Grade X) from school name, location name securing Grade Point Average (GPA) XX out of 4 in the year  AD and National Examination Board (Grade XII) in Science stream with Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) XXout of 4 in the year  AD from college name , location name. As I was willing to pursue my higher education in Australia, I consulted with my elders and parents and came up with the decision of taking International English Language Testing System (IELTS) examination. After completion of Grade XII, I utilized my holidays by practicing different modules of IELTS; Listening, Writing, Speaking and Reading. I appeared in the IELTS examination on year  AD. As a result, I scored an overall band of XX on IELTS (Listening-XX, Reading- XX Writing- XX and Speaking- XX). I also researched about the study, applied for my offer letter and arranged financial related documents.

Why not Nepal?
There are a plethora of colleges and universities in Nepal providing Business management courses and Information Technology courses to the students. I researched about the colleges providing Bachelors in Information Technology and Bachelor of Business Studies or Bachelor of Business Administration but, I was not satisfied with the college education system here in Nepal. I personally visited colleges such as Himalayan College, Softwarica College of IT, Kantipur City College, Shankardev Campus but all I found was the theoretical based education system. The facilities offered by the colleges were not enough. Courses are not flexible and updated. Moreover, the course duration runs for 4 years even though course contents are not updated. With all these inconsistencies, there are limited seats in colleges and universities with huge demography of youths interested to study here due to financial barriers. Education here in Nepal will not lead to advanced specialization in this field. Bachelors in business and IT fields in Nepal are not extremely worse but I am looking out for higher standard education and internationally acknowledged degree. And, it is not possible here in Nepal. Due to less practical knowledge, we are backward when it comes to tackling real-world business technology. And, in this practically challenged world, I do not want to be left behind. Also, the Nepalese job market has special priority to international degree holders as the market has realized graduates of Nepal are not updated to latest technologies and innovations around the world. I studied for a long time in Nepal and now willing to study in an international environment where I will have an opportunity to meet people from different nations, can exchange ideas and culture with each other. Some international colleges running in Nepal are under distance education which is not accepted in the future for study and work. So, studying in Australia, I could enjoy high standard education and a learning style that encourages one to be innovative, creative and think independently. Keeping everything in my mind, I believe that Australia is the best option for me.

Why Australia?
Australia is the main study destination for every better education dreamer. The main reason for me wanting to study in Australia is national and international recognition of Australian degrees. There is a national policy called Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) which ensures uniform and recognized progression for study. Australia also practices the ESOS (Education Services for Overseas Students) act which is designed to protect the standards for international studying in Australia. This piece of legislation, amended in 2010, delivers regulatory requirements for education and training institutions through the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS). Thus, I can be sure that I will gain quality education in Australia. In addition to this, Australia is known as one of the safest countries in the world with climate similar with that of Nepal. Australia is a major attraction and hub for people from more than 140 countries. International students from different culture study in this hub and hence, I can get opportunities to understand the dynamics of different cultures and explore cultural demographics. Australia is relatively affordable for us. With annual tuition fees ranging to $amount and annual living expense ranging to $ amount, its affordable for Nepalese and I can be fully supported by my family’s financial matrix during my studies. and Beside these, Australia has other attractions such as Tuitions Fees Protection System, Gun Control System; Recreational places to visit during vacations, health insurance policy, etc. So, I decided to study in Australia. The Australian Education System has produced many scientists, educators, designers, entrepreneurs and artists who have changed the world through their own respective fields. Alongside, Australia provides post study work facility for 2 years. Due to this, I can get exposed to industrial practices in one of the best economies of the world. Getting to work in an advanced industry in Australia will help me to bring in innovations in Nepalese market as well.

Why not other countries?
I have been making plans for my further studies abroad since a long time ago. I had to choose a proper destination for executing my plans. I found that similar courses were provided by other different colleges and universities of the United States of America, United Kingdom, Canada, Japan, and New Zealand. However, to plan for those countries, I was not convinced because of the following various reasons:

USA: The USA is renowned world-wide for quality education and a luxurious lifestyle. However, I did not prefer to pursue my intended course in the USA because the tuition fees are getting expensive day by day and living standard is too high to maintain. Also, the duration of graduation courses is 4 years, compared to 3 years in Australia. Thus, it will cost an extra year of living and tuition fees, which makes the entire course package expensive for me. Moreover, the USA has extreme enrollment criteria for students. For the USA, I found that we need to face competitive examinations like SAT and ACT.

UK: Although the UK is the most preferred countries in the world for education, I did not go for it due to uncertain facilities of immigration, strict visa policies, and unsuitable climatic conditions for Asian people. In addition, the UK has very high currency value making it difficult to cover up the living expenses. Furthermore, UK doesn’t have Tuition Fees Protection System. It adds to a huge risk in case any educational institutions lose their educational status.

Canada: Canada is arguably the hottest new destination for Asian students to study abroad. As student’s unemployment is high in Canada and no guaranteed job as a student. And another reason is being to the north it is colder and darker and winter lasts longer. A third reason is a bit less well-recognized degrees than provided by Australian colleges and universities.

Why Sydney?
When I picturesque Australia, the first thing that comes to my mind is Opera House, which lies in Sydney. Could be the weather, opportunities for anything the international students along with me automatically are attracted to Sydney. Sydney is the biggest city in Australia. It is a great destination to live and study, both for national and international students. In addition, it is also considered as the most livable city and vibrant-culture culinary and sporting capital with world-class education providers offering credentials recognized by international institutions and employers. I believe Australia to be a great place to begin my career pathway and build a networking connection. Sydney stands ahead in being a friendliest city of the world that is home to world eminent institutions as well. For accommodation, I have explored apartments near PCT via websites such as website link  and website link and I am sure that I will affordable apartments as the cost per week for shared apartments will not exceed AUD Amount.

Why college name ?
Before applying to the college name, I was in a great dilemma that which college or university will be suitable for me. I did research on the different universities and colleges available in Australia. After surfing a lot on the internet and Google about different colleges and universities like Australian Catholic University (Bachelor of Business Information System (156 weeks) and the total course fee is $amount), University of Wollongong (Bachelor of Business Information System (156 weeks) and the total course fee is $amount), Asia Pacific International College Pty Ltd (Bachelor of Business Information System (156 weeks) and the total course fee is $amount), Victorian Institute of Technology Pty Ltd (Bachelor of Information Technology and Systems (156 weeks) and the total course fee is $amount) and college name (156 weeks) and the total course fee is $amount) I made up my mind and choose college name to continue my further study because of many reasons.

I choose College rather than university for my further education. University and college are both equal academically, but If the student prefers small sized classes and being able to interact more with their professors, a college might be a better option. Colleges are far more goal-oriented. Furthermore, I researched some colleges for my further study like APIC, VIT and College name. APIC has its campuses little outside the CBD, Sydney, VIT has its campuses in Sydney and Melbourne and College name has its campus in Location name. Based on the location, reputation, fees and the course contents, I have chosen College name for my further study which is most excellent in every reason. College name is located right in the very center of the city Location name

College name has a reasonable fee structure, flexible, innovative and friendly place of learning with a dynamic multicultural atmosphere and furthermore it educates the students in a globally competitive way. It provides Innovative; industry relevant courses which are delivered by inspirational teachers, supported by small class sizes, 24/7 online learning support, advanced learning technologies, to create a learning experience that is richly interactive and highly personalized. Therefore, I am totally inspired by College name which is one of the most active and versatile institutions of Australia. College name is an Australian Higher Education Provider (HEP) registered with the Australian Government’s Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA). It is approved by TEQSA

Why Bachelor of Business Information Systems?
Bachelor of Business Information Systems is a three years’ full-time course. This course has been designed to prepare students for careers in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) focusing on managing information systems in organizations. A business information system is an essential element in bringing together technology, people and data/information to effectively manage organizations. Such systems are used to analyze and facilitate strategic and operational activities in organizations. Up to where my understanding reached, the primary objective of Bachelor of Business Information Systems is to know about exploiting technology mostly related to the business. It helps us to know about the skills related to information technology which are directly related to promotions of business. Graduates of BBIS degree will be capable of evaluating, designing, implementing, managing and utilizing systems to generate solutions to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of core business operations. For instance; some companies, such as graphic designers or advertising companies, use the information systems to produce their products and services. In supporting operations, the information system can increase efficiency and improve employee productivity. I believe that the education gained from College name, Australia will help me gain knowledge about business promotions with technical knowledge and problem-solving skills. As Nepal is still lacking behind in the fields of technology and business, the knowledge I get from College name,  Australia will play a vital role in the development of those fields.

Behind every innovation is an information system. As the business world grows so do the systems that support it. Business information systems are an essential element in bringing together technology, people (individuals, groups, or organizations), and data/information to effectively manage organizations. Such systems are used to analyze and facilitate strategic and operational activities in organizations. The proposed BBIS course aims to provide students with cognitive and technical skills to create and manage cohesive business solutions for diverse organizations.

So, after completion of my study from College name,  and with PSW, I will definitely have a lot of opportunities in my own country for my career. I will be qualified for technical fields like the ICT industry with technical skills in systems analysis, IS service provision, with cognitive skills in core business concepts, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork to contribute to the overall information systems objectives of an organization. My aim is to work as a Senior Business Specialist in reputed companies like Nepal Telecom, Ncell, Choudhary Group or in IT-based companies like Bhat-Bhateni Group, TECHMINDS, Dugar Family, Golchha Organisation and Golyan Group, CLASSICTECH, World-Link. In the present context of Nepal, business expansion and information/communication are going in parallel. There is a great need for a proper marketing strategy to be adopted in order to succeed in business. For instance, different businesses like Tootle, Pathao, and daraz.com in Nepal are marketing their product through a different communicating channel such as via Facebook, messenger, etc. This clearly signifies the outmost need for marketing and communication expert in my country in order to be a successful entrepreneur. Due to the success of these startups, lately, there is huge growth in ecommerce and information system-based businesses. The ecommerce industry in Nepal has evolved and there is huge number of startups bringing in their innovation ideas and operating in Nepal. Due to this evolution, the job growth rate has been steadily growing and the unemployment rate is slowly dropping. Jobs are easily available. In the long run, I hope to establish companies like Tootle, Pathao on my own. As Graduates are highly paid in the job market, my basic salary as a consultant will be around  NPR amount to NPR amount per month. There are various online job portals in Nepal where I can apply as a fresher, such as; www.merojob.com, www.onlinejobsnepal.com, www.jobsnepal.com, www.ramrojob.com

As a starter in Nepal, with my skills and knowledge, I will be able to achieve more experience in my work position which will prove to be productive in a growing career position. With the increasing experience, I will be able to get promoted to higher positions which will ultimately help me increase my monthly salary ranging above NPR amount NPR amount per month and there is no monetary value of education which I will be gain from Australia. Once, I grow into my jobs and start earning, it will help me contribute towards repayment of my education loan. It shall cover all my commitments and I shall be able to launch my own startup. Education I obtained abroad, will help me through entrepreneurship and help me achieve my dream to start my own company. I am confident that money invested in my education will be worthful and I can be a successful figure in Information Systems Industry.

Motivation to come back home (Nepal):
Among many robust decisions in my life, the decision to study in Australia is one of the toughest decisions made by me because of the emotional attachment with my family and my home country Nepal. Though this decision had to be made as to the situation and the quality of education always concerned me. To get a graduation degree from a renowned college with experience has always been my intention. My dream is to get established and be recognized all across Nepal, alongside doing some great deeds for my family and my birthplace. Being the responsible daughter and caretaker of my parents and family, I have an emotional tie-up with them. After I complete my course, I will firmly return to my homeland with the knowledge, experience, skills that I acquired from the course. Therefore, the only motive of me studying abroad I to gain sufficient knowledge and experience so that I can use them here in Nepal.

I am a very social person and I have deeper attachments with my parents, thus during their old age, I should be in Nepal, even their unspoken feelings. In fact, I have to look after my parents as they have invested and given me so many opportunities for my wellbeing and studies. It will be my turn to take care of them in their old age. Therefore, I need to be physically present in Nepal to take care and support them so that they feel proud of me. My parents are my real heroes and my family has given me love and support in every stage of my life to which I am incredibly grateful. Furthermore, I am from a small developing country. My country has been able to do progress neither in the field of business nor in technology until the date where my degree from college name will be playing a vital role in the development of those fields. Though my country is poor and underdeveloped, credit for what I am till now and what I will be tomorrow goes to my country and parents. Hence, driving my country in the path of development and looking after my parents will be my foremost responsibility. So I must return back to Nepal at any cost and have to prove myself as an obedient daughter.

Lately, there are huge career prospects and financial opportunities in Nepal.
